Just seems weird that these analysts (Bilas and Fran for example) are now blasting how great this is to clean up the game that they love cause it's been going on for too long in their eyes. If you didn't speak up for all these years and had inside knowledge then sit down and shut up.
EVERYONE knew it was going on, and people have been talking around the edges about it for years. In the position they're in, unless they have concrete evidence that catches the culprits in the cookie jar, what are they supposed to say? That's where slander and defamation lawsuits come in.
And a new house.And Herschel got 50,000 and a 1980 Trans Am.
I think Bruce Pearl may be next on chopping block. He already has a shady background from UT. Now Auburn came out today and offered anyone who bought men's basketball season tickets a full refund and they have canceled 2 straight press conferences with hoops staff.
I'm guessing the NBA draft is going to start taking high schoolers again.
Not likely. The prohibition against high school grads entering the draft is embedded in the CBA. It was just renewed this year and runs through the 2023-24 season. It is my guess we will see a few more recruits opt for the Euro leagues, or continue the one and done game we now "enjoy."I'm guessing the NBA draft is going to start taking high schoolers again.
NCAA and NBA should just shift to the Baseball model and all this would not be an issue or at least a smaller issue. To the few guys that are really good enough to jump straight from High School, let them. Everyone else has to go three years to be eligible for the draft though.
The NCAA and NBA don't work together on this stuff. There's no monetary incentive for the NBA to do anything.
AAU + Shoe compapanies = CorruptionHoly crap. The whole AAU system could come crumbling down. Let's be real...AAU is just circuit to get BBall players ingratiated to the big shoe companies.
Man, high school bball coaches will actually have to deal with recruiting now. Imagine that...
the reasonably new NBA commish has been pretty active talking about his displeasure with the one and done system. He is talking about allowing a kid to go direct from HS or wait 2 years (modified baseball rule). They also are beefing up the NBDL so kids that come out early and don't make rosters have a place to go. I expect within a couple of years you will see HS kids being drafted again.
For all its issues I think folks are going to wish the one and done was still around when the NBA gets done with what they are doing.

Anyone want to summarize the schools in trouble?
Emanuel "Book" Richardson (one person)I'll keep a list and update it. If anyone notices any school I've missed, or misplaced, let me know:
A. Schools Already Impacted:
1. Louisville - Pitino and Tom Jurich on administrative leave
2. Arizona - Book Richardson arrested, Emmanuel Richardson arrested
3. Auburn - Chuck Person arrested (released from custody) and suspended without pay
4. Oklahoma St. - Lamont Evans arrested
B. Schools Likely Impacted:
1. Miami
2. USC (California) - Tony Bland accused on several counts
3. South Carolina - Lamont Evans again
C. Schools Potentially Involved (not verified):
1. Kansas
2. Illinois
