Today's game will be informative since the success of the plays will rely more on execution rather than simply being from better athletes. Against Alcorn it seemed like some plays worked because of better athletes even though key blocks were missed or guys did not run to the right spot. What gives hope however it that this line is devastating which allows a little room for grace for running backs and receivers.

Years ago as I began to travel and meet people from other countries I ran into both rugby fans and soccer fans who thought American football was boring. They argued that most of the American game was just standing around rather than the constant action found in their sports.

This is not a comment to compare football to other sports nor is it to start a conversation about such comparisons. I obviously think football is more exciting. But I use that as an example to point out the obvious. Out of a three hour game the offense that we all love to see only gets displayed for about 12 and a half minutes. Clearly the tension between plays is part of the excitement, wondering when you will get the ball back, special teams, great defensive plays and the rest. But the part I love best is only a fraction of the total viewing time.

Which is why this really is football porn for me when these offensive cuts are put together this way.

Ah, unfortunately I haven't spent much time here this season so far for various reasons. I love all the work guys like him, longestday, boomer, and stylee do to explain our offense. I've learned so much over the past few years from all these guys. I hadn't run across any mention of his page yet so thought I'd make sure if it hadn't been mentioned everyone knew he was doing this.

Thx @apcarrick
Finally had a chance to look at video. As bad as some of our run blocking was.....our passing game was atrocious most of the game. That was a weakness even late last year and has to get cleaned up if we want to make a run at Charlotte.

Nice job on the cut ups. It's very time-consuming work.

Few nitpicky things on formation names:

I know Brandon refers to "Base formation", but PJ calls that formation "Spread". I've lip-read him enough to confirm that.
Tight = Double Flex
Over Green Right = Over Right Green (similarly, Over Right Brown, Over Right Gray)

So what you're saying is that our blocking was bad, but on the other hand our passing was horrible?

A couple of plays were marked "belly option". I am pretty ignorant, but would that be synonymous with an outside veer? The QBs footwork and the bb's run path look very similar to an outside zone run, and I was under the impression that was how the outside veer also worked. Thanks!

(I'm happy the kick 6 was included!)

IIuc, the answer is no. Different blocking. Outside veer is also a triple option while we run belly option as a double option (bback is just a fake and blocks). We also run a belly that is a called give to BBack.
