Any Clinton Lynch updates?

I know a little something about the platelet rich plasma treatment that Lynch is undergoing as I am undergoing the same treatment for a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum. I am 4 months in and feel i'm about 65% back. This week the doctor has just given me the green light to resume golf and hockey. Golf has been ok with a little soreness and hockey is also ok. As far as hockey is concerned, I'm obviously not competing at the NCAA level with lots of hitting. I could not imagine at this point in the process taking hits like you would in NCAA football or hockey - that's the bad news. The good news is Lynch is much younger than me and I would expect him to heal faster. I also don't know the difference between a knee and shoulder injury. I would suspect that for the knee it definitely has to do with ligament and/or tendon tear, although I have no idea how severe. Taking into account age difference, and the fact that its been 4 months for me to get to 65%, I would think he could be close but the fact that its NCAA football, maybe it would be a little longer. Here is an interesting link to a Sports Illustrated article on what it has done for MLB pitchers: https://www.si.com/more-sports/2011/08/03/nitkowski

He can also play without starting. So the rotation could be Qua Searcy, JJ Green, Nate Cottrell, then Clinton Lynch. So he sees limited action, but knows the plays well enough to get it done for 6-8 plays. Either way, I has a sad.

Tomorrow is last full pad practice. With Clinton he knows what to do and knows the plays. I could see it being a game time decision.

Gotchya, would be a huge boost to have him in rotation so it's not just three guys (one of those not having much experience at all). If you told me we had to play Tenn without our top two playmakers (DM and CL ) I would say we lose for sure. I think we might still be able to do it without both, but it's going to be tough

The article (and other sources I have read & listened to) states that the injury that is keeping him out now is unrelated to the PRP treatment he had in the spring.

Yeah from everything we've heard it really sounds like a hamstring or something like that. I REALLY hope to see him out there...he's a big play waiting to happen.

I love CL. He was clearly our best playmaker at AB last year.

However... a lot of AB success is based on opportunity. Without taking ANYTHING away from CL, I think Qua and JJ could have the same big-play success. All the tools are there: speed, hands, shiftiness.

If CL unfortunately can't go, I don't think we're going to see a huge dropoff.

Other than Qua, I worry about the others abacks catching the ball. CL has such sure hands. I hope he can play

SJ,
unfortunately lots of folks are saying " only limited dropoff " about QB and BB also..At some point,it just doesn't fly.

Yes, a lot of the success is based in opportunity, but I feel we've seen enough of CL to know that he absolutely maximizes his opportunities beyond what the others have shown so far (not saying they can't, just that Lynch has proven what he can do). He's our best AB and he's definitely earned that recognition.
