Overall our defense is loads better than they were last year! First off, the run defense improvement is obviously clear. While the rest of the defensive numbers are not as obvious, the secondary is playing a lot tighter coverage than previously even if it's not always perfect. They do seem to allow a couple big plays from broken coverages every game, which is likely the biggest reason the stats are as bad as they are, but they are at least making it harder on the QBs. The pass rush is still not getting home like it should but there have still been more positive plays from them than previous years.
We have a ways to go but CTS seems to be on the right track

Seems that King's ranking is adversely affected by his low "scramble" %. Possibly due to Buster's offense - when King gets flushed from the pocket (rarely), he usually does a good job of finding an open receiver or check-down. Not sure how he is defining the term, but I assume it means a QB flushed out and running for a gain. Is that even a stat?

Good news: we're improving
Bad news: the rest of the ACC improved faster, even making up for FSU.
We should be improving faster, but this year looks like it fails into the category of "we got better but it doesn't show up in the wins column".
If we don't square away our offense and special teams, we could end up behind last year.
Unfortunately, the NCST game looks like a close matchup

I think the overall issue is how thin we are at skill positions. I did not expect to see such a big QB drop off

Just from a personal watching standpoint it feels like
Offense about the same as last year. Last year was more explosive but also more TO's.
Defense definitely better - rush defense much better, sacks and TO's down from last year.
Special Teams - well down from last year.
Put the 3 together and you get a team that is roughly equivalent with last year's squad, just has a little different strengths and weaknesses.
We are avg about 7 pts less per game against Power Conference opponents than in 2023. We are avg allowing 6 points less against Power Conference opponents (which includes the special teams scores so the defensive margin is better than that).
We have 2 very highly ranked opponents left, let's see how that affects our metrics at the end of the season.
Miami feels like a bad matchup for GT. Their D is sort of mediocre, but their offense is elite. We've scored more than 28 points against a power conference opponent once this year. Miami's lowest scoring game is 36 points. We need a healthy King and a healthy Haynes to even have a decent shot at an upset.
