Did you really tell your son he’s not allowed to jog in public? I’m simply curious if you really did or if you were being dramatic in the moment.
That's not what I said.
But I wish I could be flippant about that sort of thing.

of course it's relevant.maybe the suspect was fleeing the scene of the crime.Citizens arrests are legal in over 40 statesWere the killers in that case protected by the police and DA? Did they avoid charge or scrutiny or even basic investigation for months after the fact?
If not, I'm not sure why this is relevant if not to just muddy the waters and discredit the effort for justice in the Brunswick case.

That's why the McMichaels attorney friend said that he posted the video.I think the biggest issue for me is who attacked who?

A new video was released that shows Arbery walking through the neighborhood and going into a house. It’s looking more and more like he was not out for a jog, unfortunately. This trial is going to be crazy. The 2 killers defense lawyers are going to argue they were attempting to stop and question the man for entering the home and the man lunged at them and wrestled for their gun so they had to shoot in self defense. These 2 murderers will more than likely walk, and they created the deadly encounter. Crazy.
In Georgia to make a citizens arrest a crime had to be committed in your presence. Thinking sometime looks similar to a video of an earlier crime is not enough. Thinking he might have committed a crime a few minutes ago isn't enough.
Pulling a gun on someone is assault with a deadly weapon. If you commit a felony and a death results from that felony, you have committed murder. In this case, private citizens committed assault with deadly weapons. The person they assaulted fought back and was killed. There is a Supreme Court ruling that says you cannot create a life threatening condition for another person and then use the fact that the other person reacts to save themselves as justification to kill them.

Are you certain that the men with guns assaulted the jogger? It appears from the video that the jogger initiated the attack on one of the men with guns.

You also need to consider that IF they had seen the video of the guy in that house, they would have had to have made the video themselves (which is likely). And if they made the video, then they know he had only been inside that (under construction) house for 3 minutes and didn't leave with anything from it.In Georgia to make a citizens arrest a crime had to be committed in your presence. maybe " within his immediate knowledge" is the relevant passage. In a letter the DA said that the McMichaels had "solid first hand probable cause" but he didn't elaborate on what that was.In Georgia to make a citizens arrest a crime had to be committed in your presence. It's an opportunity to shine the national light on another heart-wrenching situation. Something that needs to be addressed, as well. Were the killers in that case protected by the police and DA? Did they avoid charge or scrutiny or even basic investigation for months after the fact?
