Ummmm.....only a loser would spell it loosers.
I see that 'loose' for lose so often now I figured it was some sort of 'kid's speak'.
The ref's today were a complete joke. Brooks was called for ZERO fouls. I lost count of how many he committed. Perhaps it's only called a foul and also retain the ball in the pros, but that foul from behind on Devoe's breakaway to the hoop should be an intentional foul...shots and possession.

Damn. I thought fridays game was at 2:30. Cleared and entire day for day drinking and basketball. Game me enough time to go home and sleep it off before I go into work at 11pm.....

The Virginia Tech mirage rolls onward. Coach of the year right there - look how long he kept the ruse going.

We have a lot of seniors, but this is their first real tournament shot and they’ve never been to the NCAAT. We played tight against Duke, tight against Wake, and now tight against Miami. Hopefully being underdog again lets us loosen up. Virginia was lucky to win, so maybe they’ll be a little tight.

We were also lucky to win. This was our worst game in weeks.

We really need to figure out how to break a press.

Feel like a lot of teams around the country have this same issue. Probably why the press is a popular end-game strategy. UVA - one of the better coached teams in the country - looked lost trying to break Cuse’s press yesterday. Commentators even pointed out it’s been a common theme for Bennett vs Boeheim and even lost UVA an Elite 8 game they had won a few years ago against Cuse.

Lucky to win? I guess in a sense. We shot better from the field and from behind the line. We rebounded evenly (despite the non called pushoffs). We had significantly more assists and significantly fewer turnovers. Jose, Ush, and Mike all had typical games, and we got good production from Khalid, Kyle, and Bubba. So we were lucky that the refs didn't decide the game, although they certainly tried to.

I might get corrected on this, but it looked like Miami’s plan was “take away Moses and take away the paint. If we lose to the other guys and outside shooting, OK”.
I expect UVA to try the same.
Maybe we see some of Howard again today. Hopefully, we’re a little more used to the court now that we’ve had a game on it.
There’s got to be a better way to use Devoe.
Andy Demetra’s notes aren’t posted yet. ESPNs preview is here. Key factor is UVAs defense
Here’s the UVA student paper preview of the tournament, and one from CFN.
It looks like keys are controlling the tempo, scoring 70+, winning turnovers, converting free throws, and even better defense than normal. We either need to open up cuts to the basket or get really hot from outside.

Wonder if it goes back to no contact practices/ limited practices before the season across the country too. Hard to really practice press break at full speed during the season I'd imagine.

Anthony Walker is a good player for Miami to use on Moses. Walker is big strong and athletic and has played really well down the stretch. He is really the same type of player and projects well during his junior and senior seasons.

UM played really aggressive man-to-man, with a lot of contact even on the perimeter. We had very few open 3s. If the game had been called tighter (against them), I think they would have not been as effective with their D plan
