Are there any alumni association watch parties in the north metro? Are there any bars known to be showing the game in Peachtree Corners, Johns Creek, Sugar Hill, Suwanee, etc.?

Yep, there is specifically a GT North metro alumni network. They usually show games at Hudson Grille in Sandy Springs, so not exactly in that area but close. Looks like they'll have one for August 29th: http://www.gtnorthmetro.gtalumni.org/s/1481/alumni/17/interior-wide.aspx?sid=1481&gid=36&pgid=12446

fyi for others, there are a number of alumni association networks (I'm sure with varying participation). The full list is here: https://www.gtalumni.org/s/1481/alumni/17/interior-wide.aspx?sid=1481&gid=21&pgid=731

I remember there used to be a list of "Official" watch party locations for each of the area Associations somewhere. Does anyone know if this still exists?

I remember seeing something like that too - this is the closest I could find but looks like it hasn't been updated for next season yet. There might be more official listings when we're closer to toe meeting leather.

Any with experience on Hulu TV? Thinking about just signing up for that for a month or so while negotiations are going on with Comcast should they not have a deal in place by 8/22. However, my Conservative side says to completely dump them if they're not meeting my needs.
I made the switch from Comcast to Hulu w/ live TV a little over a year ago and I think it’s great. My dad subsequently made the switch and the user interface has proven to be easy to learn (He’s not particularly tech savvy).

90% or greater chance of Charter Spectrum carrying the ACC Network. Charter is renegotiating their entire package agreement with Disney. That’s a perfect time to add a channel. Per Spectrum tweet to customers.

Spectrum is very big in North Carolina RTP area. No way will that area not have the ACC network on spectrum . So far still negotiating according to papers up here but it is bound to happen.

According to this discussion on reddit, here are the list of providers with an agreement to get the ACCN. It also lists what packages/tiers you need, if known. There might also be smaller providers not included on the list

  • DirecTV
  • Optimum (Altice)
  • Suddenlink (Altice)
  • Verizon Fios
  • Playstation Vue
  • Hulu
  • Google Fiber
  • Frontier Communications (FiOS and Vantage)
  • Atlantic Broadband
  • Centurylink (Prism TV)
There's still a month left - I'm sure a few more will be added

Plus...Don't forget the NCTC deal... So the Channel is going to launch with about 32M subscribers before Spectrum/Comcast/Cox/Uverse/Dish are added.. This may end up being the most subscribed launch if ESPN can close on SPECTRUM and Comcast... We may launch with 50M plus..

The Big Dawgs of the NCTC deal:

1. Atlantic Broadband- is the ninth-largest cable operator in the USA, based on the number of television service customers served. The company provides internet, TV and phone serivces in 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

2. Armstrong - Provides high-speed Internet, television and telephone service in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, West Virginia, Maryland and Kentucky.

3. EPB - Serves an area that includes greater Chattanooga and Hamilton County, portions of surrounding Southeastern Tennessee counties and areas of north Georgia.

For a full list of the 750 independent cable and broadband operators that will carry the ACC Network please click below

They indicate that "Wow" is a member, which may be important in Augusta. However, when reviewing WOW's website, there is no confirmation of the ACC network being available.

I just emailed WOW for the second time regarding it, after having spoke to a service person on the phone several weeks ago who promised to forward my request on to someone. I have not heard anything back either from the first email or as a result of talking to the service person. Their website promises email response within 2 day, and I just emailed them again this morning, reminding them of that and of the fact that I never received a response to the first email. We shall see.

Any insiders in the industry on here that can explain why Comcast may not carry it? I can't fathom them giving up that many subscribers, me included, in this cut the cord environment. Do thousands of customers not matter to Comcast ?

Not an insider by any means, but I can recommend Playstation Vue. Works great with a Roku. Very little if any buffering. Only thing that is somewhat annoying is you can't do DVR like things while something is recording.

Per the link I posted earlier....Comcast 75% or greater chance that they have the ACC network by GT at Clemson game. There are just too many ACC Customers in their viewing area.
