ACC CG contenders

We really don't need SMU (2 OOC losses) or Dook (3 OOC losses) to be in the ACC CG. There needs to be a disqualification metric instituted here.
At least SMU's losses were both P4, 2 of Duke's losses are to a G5 and G5/independent. They would recuse themselves if they had any shame.

I’m most skeptical of Duke being able to win out, anyway. They may get lucky with UVA’s QB situation, but I think Wake is a big challenge for them.

don’t count out UNC. Their D is playing well and their offense has stopped turning it over

The challenge of a 17 team conference. But no there should not be beauty contest disqualifers 🤣

It’s cause Duke and UVA play each other next week.
I believe you can include Pitt in that group (with Tech, Duke, and the Hoos) as controlling their own destiny. They have to beat us and Miami, but that would give us a second loss, Miami a third, and secure a spot for themselves.

Miami always falls apart at some point in the season and doesn't recover. The collapse has already started, we would destroy them.
Always? They have a slew of national championships that say otherwise. Yes, I know that since they joined the ACC they have not a shred of championship bunting to show for all those great recruiting classes. A pity that all that talent was wasted and continues to be wasted. I am not convinced we would "destroy them" if they had their heads on right, put down the marijuana long enough to focus, I can see them beating us. They have far better athletes on defense than we do, not that it has done them much good lately.

I know. I actually built a spreadsheet. If UVA & SMU are 7-1 in conference, it comes down to overall record of their conference opponents. They are within 2% of each other right now.
Damn if this is not the most Tech post ever. What other fan base would calculate to a single digit the conference championship possibilities of two teams neither of whom is the math genius team?

You are taking "always" too literally, I don't care what they did a quarter century ago.

We need to become the biggest Wake fans the next few weeks. They took care of Virginia and now have UNC, Delaware, and Duke. All very winnable. This would give us a win over a 9-3 team and knocks Duke out of ACC champ game conversation. Duke going to ACC CG is very very bad for optics of the ACC, it would be embarrassing.
Where did thexWake F coach before he came to acc? Also wf has a well coached defense. Wonder if they have a staff like we do? With our s heme we should have done better. They held rb to 30 -40 yds .

Buster needs to scheme up the Running Back game in last 3 games.

As far as worrying about optics, fsu, clem, mia ALL BEING MARGINAL IS EMBARRASSING. THE FSU CLEMSON FAME WAS BORING.

He was head coach at WaZoo (Washington State). They went 10 - 2 last year and he brought several of their players and recruits with him to Wake. It shows.

We need to watch out for Dickert. That guy knows how to coach and recruit. Further, remember that Wake has been scheduling to win for years in advance.

I certainly don't remember this type of "let's get an easy matchup" mindset about our 2014 and 2009 teams. It's very telling and I think a nod to how much our record this year is a product of the easiest schedule in recent memory. Still, for any of the ACCCG matchup conversations to be remotely relevant, we have to beat at least BC and Pitt. At which point, I think we will be of the "anybody, anywhere, anytime" mindset.
I understand what you are saying but the landscape has totally changed. With a playoff it’s all about getting in. Why? Another few weeks of media coverage and money which leads to better pay for coaches and recruits. Rinse and repeat. And if any fanbase has the right to an easy schedule for once it’s GT. Having to play Clemson and UGA every year during the bagman system cost us a lot of coastal titles and wins. I never heard VT complain us getting Clemson while they got Wake as a crossover.

And the other thing is once the playoff is set no one will care what our schedule was. All will be forgotten just like no one today cares about how we beat Wake or the last second field goal against Clemson. All they know is GT is 8-1 and ranked. That’s the new way in our modern sports society.

Well, a quarter century ago they had great athletes all over the place...fast forward 25 years and they still have great athletes all over the place. Now do you care what they did a quarter century ago? Recruiting at Miami is always the same...putting it all together, well, that's the rub isn't it?
