I rarely think the broadcast is informative but in this case… WTF is Clemson thinking not going for 2???

Broadcast is 100% right

And follow it up with a stupid onside kick execution. Even if they'd recovered it, they committed blocking penalties that would've negated it even on replay (per the broadcast).

And it's all moot since they gave up a house call for a TD. What a night for Dabo.

Really a clinic in mismanagement.
Doesn’t matter when you get your teeth kicked in… but still. Yikes

Just going to register my complaint here.

I’m tired of uga being in the national title hunt year after year after year. I know that program’s sold its soul to the devil but geesh.

And why do they have to keep getting lucky breaks along the way. If UG had a semi-competent QB yesterday, they win that game.

The 1st CFP rankings will be published on Tuesday evening. Don't be surprised to see them omit Clemson from consideration. Miami and SMU could finish the regular season undefeated and play for the ACC championship. I cannot see either being left out now if that happens.

Texas A&M eliminated themselves with a horrendous game in Columbia. I don't think a victory over Texas at home can get them back in. Does their loss also damage Notre Dame's credentials?

At this point, with some big games remaining, here are the teams still in the mix. At least one of them won't make it:

Ohio St
Penn St
Indiana
Oregon
uga
Tennessee
Texas
SMU
Miami
BYU
Iowa St
Notre Dame
Boise St

Bubble teams: Alabama, Texas A&M, Clemson, LSU, Miss

An interesting factoid: Army has not trailed in a game this year.

Rant: It is going to be hard for an SEC team not in my list above to get in. Two of those teams have to drop out for Bama to get in. Could it happen? Yes.

Rant Part Two: Alabama is a “legacy team” so voters will be looking hard for an excuse to include them.

Pro Bama: They would get some consideration with four losses. They're Bama.

Tennessee has the tie breaker over Bama, but the Vols still have to play uga. A win or close loss probably gets them in. A big loss and that Arkansas upset might be a bad sign for them. If Bama wins out (they have a tough game in Baton Rouge next Saturday night) and Tennessee loses, they could swap places. Or someone else drops out. LSU has to win out. If they do, Bama is done. Ole Miss has to win out, which means beating uga in Oxford. The Dogs have not been sharp lately (especially Beck). That would be an interesting outcome. How would the CFP handle all those SEC teams with two losses? Could that move A&M back onto the bubble?

After more thought, I believe ND will win out and be in the CFP. They're almost as much of a legacy as Bama.

Edit: The Athletic is predicting uga, Texas, Bama, and Tennessee from the SEC, with tOSU, PSU, Indiana, and Oregon from the B1G, plus ND and Boise St. One each from the ACC and B12.

Iowa State lost yesterday. That may bump them out.

I don't know about y'all but I am thrilled to see St. Dabo get his pious teeth kicked in. Looks like Clemson keeps their seat on the ROY bus.

That sounds about right. A couple of the edge teams could swap places (e.g., LSU could replace Bama) but otherwise the SEC and Big Ten (cough, cough) will dominate.

Shouldn’t they rename that Midwestern…er, I mean, national conference instead of sticking to the Big Whatever?

A one loss each team for both Miami and SMU would be hard to keep either out.
