I have concluded the refs could call holding or pass interference (either way) on every play if they wanted to. It is often subjective on their part when to call it and not often consistent. I wonder if coaches have an opportunity to critique them to the ACC head of officials after a game, and if they are ever reprimanded.
I 2nd, 3rd, and 4th this! There is at least one offensive lineman holding and one defensive back interference on EVERY play. I am committed to the idea that every close game is decided by the refs.

Possibly knocking Liberty out of the 12 team CFP
I would say definitely knocks them out of any CFP consideration. They were not at the top of the pecking list of G5 teams to begin with due to having a really soft schedule. Losing to one of the weakest FBS teams is going to wreck any chance they had.

Realistically the G5 team is likely to come out of the Mountain West or the American. Boise St and UNLV from the WW and Army, Navy, Tulane, Memphis from the AAC are the teams I think have legitimate shots still.

Congrats to Kennesaw St though. Their first win ever over an FBS opponent. I was working in Kennesaw yesterday so I saw their fans arriving as I left for the day.

This is a nice paragraph from an SI article on why a Wednesday night game actually was important - ultimately because Liberty lost and there fore is eliminated from any CFP discussion.

Few expected Kennesaw State to be the team to crush Liberty’s dreams. After all, the Owls are playing their first season as an FBS program—and they weren’t even a good FCS program last season. Kennesaw went 3–6 in 2023. One of those victories was over a Division II school (Tusculum) and the other two were over teams that do not belong to the NCAA. This year hadn’t been any better, as the Owls came into the showdown against Liberty at 0–6. Kennesaw State only started playing football in 2015 and had never beaten an FBS program before in 10 tries.

That context makes Kennesaw State’s upset all the more surprising. According to ESPN, it was just the sixth time in the AP poll era (since 1936) that a team with a record of 0–5 or worse beat a team with a record of 5–0 or better. It hadn’t happened since 2001, when North Texas beat Middle Tennessee.

If you get a chance, going to see one of the strangest interceptions during the Syracuse Pitt game. It'll be around the 10:45 Mark of the first quarter.

It'll be in the ESPN highlights for sure. If it's not, there must be a lot better / stranger things that happened tonight.

Syracuse, and Kyle McCord, are getting killed. First, three possessions have all ended in interceptions, with two of them being pick sixes. 😬

24-0 now. 2Q just started. Wiping the floor. Have Cuse ML too. Oh well, worth it to watch Fran and McCord get punked.
Brown must have said something during one of the pressers that somehow got twisted into reading that Pitt wasn’t tough or physical and Narduzzi made it poster board material to ignite the team.

How often does an FBS quarterback throw 5 interceptions? When was the last time?

I feel like they typically get yanked after #4, Surely it’s been years
