Might as well just start with 8 teams, apparently 9-12 teams have zero chance. 4 complete snoozer games. Hoping Boise State and Arizona State can put up a fight in round 2. ND/UGA and OSU/Oregon should be good.
I mean why? Aren’t we watching football an extra wknd of the year? Doesn’t this give teams like Tech a better chance to get in the playoffs? What’s not to like about this? I say expand it to 24

I don't understand folks complaining 3 games into a 11 game playoff. Nothing better than any game where it's win or go home. The alternative [was] is just playing 3 of these games.

After watching the games today, I think the home field advantage is too big at this level of game. I think if all four of these games were reversed, the opposite would have happened, except for the Indiana game.

Home filled games give energy to the games. Fun watching the home crowds. Neutral sites for first round games would be awful

Give incentives to play better in the regular season and get either a bye or home field. Glad 3 of the 4 games were up North in the freezing temps!
SMU was 11-2. Tennessee and Ohio State were both 10-2. Why does a 10-2 team get home field advantage over an 11-1 team? How does two 10-2 teams who didn't play in their championship game get home field advantage against a team that lost their 2nd game in their league's championship game? Is that playing better in the regular season?

Four teams earned a bye. After that its opinion as the prior BCS and 4 team CFP were.

Seems the CFP Committee got 5-8 correct vs 9-12

They'll make changes going forward starting with giving the 4 best eye test teams the bye weeks instead of conference champions. ACC and Big 12 will be 1 bid conferences going forward.

But that’s kind of a byproduct of the automatic byes. You seed this field properly, you fix that issue.

So who are the 4 best teams? Is Ohio State one even though they didn’t get into the B1G Championship Game? How about ND who doesn’t have a Conference Championship Game.

Guess you are a fan of having a popularity contest for CFP seeding vice actually winning a Conference Chsmpionship.

The top 4 in the rankings would be their 4 with byes.

I know that a system that has Ohio state playing Tennessee and then playing Oregon is not a good one.
