I am kind of surprised that Miami is not higher and that UNC is not higher. Back in the day before both Techs, Miami, and FSU joined the ACC was really soft so I would have figured UNC to rack up impressive season records against that level of competition. Guess the Tar Heels were underachieving then as they tend to do now. Some things never change.
Our only hope is to add ND and UConn as full members and renegotiate the deal. Addition to the conference is the only way to get out of this mess....that and accept the BIG12, PAC12 or BIG10 offers.

Acc is about the good old days when college presidents dominated the ncaa. Its a new era everywhere except acc.
CFB IS A BIG BUSINESS - COACH SALARIES, NIL, PORTAL , with betting on way.
The acc are absent business acumen if they think that half of our conference can skate by on mimimum donations and expect ESPN to market our underfunded G5 level teams for the full term of the contract.
Our great location and legacy are only top percentile assets.
Angel/ Batt know its put up or get out time. They will be legends if we make it past the cfb reset.

If you want to get ND, adding Navy would help seal the deal. It's the one rivalry they absolutely refuse to drop.

Spot-on opinion by Bradley today in the ATL Constipation. When Texas and Oklahoma are willing to pay $100 million penalties just to join the SEC a year early, they must figure it will be worth it…

Wonder when the" exit is worth it" thoughts will infect the real P5 football schools ( clem, fsu, miami) in Acc. They spend a TON above the tv $ and have games played against the cheap teams who have no fan following and failure to slaugther them is a negative.

UConn might actually be a good choice since ESPN is in its backyard. 2 solid basketball programs and Mora got them to a bowl quickly. Then you have to ask who else would actually join the ACC at this point? UCF and Cincinnati have joined the Big 12 and would've been excellent additions.

We have a $50M buyout? We're gonna get $34M annually from the ACC and could get $60-100M from the Big10. Maybe we could use Year 1's extra payout? We could scrimp by for a year & that would give us 12 months to figure out what to do with an extra $65M a year or so. It takes time to decide how to spend that much money.

First the buy out will be high - very high and we are not going to be the -"er" we are going to be the receiv -"ee".
The leavers are leaving because they think the alternate path will result in more money by leaving.
The tv money that was contracted w ACC likely has performance metrics. The tv folks use to void the contracted $$ to the" ACC less good teams ". Its called breach. Then the lawyers get money till there is a negotiation. Mean time will gt get any tv money.

The buyout isn't what will keep them from leaving. The grant of rights, however, is going to keep them in this conference until at least 2032 or so. There is no way any of those teams forfeits almost a decade of tv revenue from their home games.

Didn’t know that but how much are our noon starts against SC St and Bowling Green for example worth on the open market? What’s a conference game against BC, Wake, Cuse fetch? Can’t believe we’d lose out that much.
On the other hand maybe we could play all of our games at Benz as neutral site. We’d owe nobody nothing.
Somehow I think the extra $45-60M per year would more than compensate even if we gave it all up.

That's because you are looking at it from the wrong lens. Half our individual games aren't worth much for the most part. The conferences games as a whole are what are negotiated, and we get the benefit of being in the same conference as the bigger names Clemson, FSU, and Miami with the money their audiences command. Adding the conference home games against ND is factored in as well. We'd lose all of that PLUS our tv rights by leaving.
There's a reason this hasn't been considered a viable option.

FSU AD: Lagging ACC revenue 'has to change'
FSU athletic director Michael Alford says the $30 million-per-year difference in revenue between schools in the ACC and the SEC/Big Ten "has to change."
Some interesting tidbits in there suggestive of a couple things:
Possibly FSU wants uneven revenue sharing?
Possibly thinking about how to challenge the GoR in court?
Nothing about either is given firm sourcing but it wouldn’t surprise me if some folks are leaking stuff off the record to try to light fires under other people’s butts.
Uneven share probably ends up bad for GT. But could be first domino towards enough member schools deciding to just disband?

I agree with the FSU AD. A $30mm per year difference in annual revenue in unsubstainable for any school in the conference. Maintenance of the status quo is a slow death for all. It does need to be fixed/addressed an I don't mean by unequal distribution of current revenue. If for whatever reason we don't make the cut for big boy football let's just realign with similar schools. I don't want to be a perpetual bottom feeder in a situation where we can't compete just to say we are in P5 FB.

Tech isn't going to be Alabama, but it doesn't have to be a bottom-feeder, either. My hope is that Batt, Key, and company can get this ship righted before the ACC implosion.
Drop out of big boy football and it's permanent - there's no way back.

Top 3 - are complaining that they have fans who donate and attend games while teams in bottom are coasting on the tv money.
Sure the 3 are hoping a mircale happens and acc becomes exciting so they can ask GET TV TO INCREASE $ W A REVISED CONTRACT ( QUITE A BIT MORE FOR THEM AND SOME FOR THE REST).
Imo, the TV people have told the Presidents of the bottom feeders (like 100-0 Gt) to get with it.

Angel sent out a map with the location of the ga tech (72k approx) alumni. We are very small compared to the mega schools ( 1/3 the size of TAM and donate 50% more per capita ( gt 12mm, TAM 48mm).
With about 30K living in Georgia and about 20k around Ga we need to tell the alumi near by to buy tickets and bring their friends.
Lets go Atlanta area jackets
