Judith Curry is one of the most respected true apolitical climate scientists in the world. She strongly believes (and backs up with data) that humans are affecting and damaging the planet and the climate. But she cautions against the anti-science alarmism that she fears will ultimately lead many to turn their attention away from a real problem. This study is more of the same in that regard. If scientists stuck to the true science, we would all be better off.

I haven't really followed her that closely, but I was under the impression that the first climategate scandal was a turning point for her. When she saw the e-mails where EastAnglia (or whereever) scientists were discussing fudging the data, it made her take a much different look at the actual data.

She’s not respected by “the consensus of scientists” on the alarming side. When she re-evaluated her position she became reviled.

Out camping this fine beautiful spring weekend with the family. Days like today remind me just how desperate the AGW matter is.

The fires we made...we should probably be jailed for our C02 emissions. 2 campfires is probably a bit extreme in this day and age.

We really need Al Gore hovering over a fissure to measure green house gas emissions. Two potential benefits. One, we will then know how much to dial back our emissions from manufacturing.....and maybe, just maybe, his dumb *** will fall into the fissure.

When a region of the US experiences higher than average temps, fraught, etc....the mainstream media always points to it as a sign of AGW.

When the whole country experiences solder than average temps....

The mm are always careful to point out that it’s a localized weather event and likely not any indication AGW is not occurring. The inconsistencies are monotonously predictable.

What I see more often than not is that record cold temperatures like this were actually predicted by their models and proof of global warming.

For real. Why are they even continuing to study new aspects...the science is settled.

But wait! Now that we have learned something new anyway....it’s time to stop these evil waves from crashing into the shores of the world. Not only must we redouble our efforts to cut emissions!!....we must also spend trillions to mitigate waves!!
