Word, I love all the talent we have here. We may be inexperienced but the upside is there. after the first three games I think things will click for the guys playing. In the years of CPJ when has the BB been bad? JD, Ant, all had to adapt to the role. IMHO opinion We have deeper skills at that position now than ever before. Will we be as good in 2015 as in 2014 maybe not but with the OL we have we should be.
The ND game in S. Bend is going to be a real test. I think they have 19 of their starters returning.
I went on record a few years ago (possibly on another board, I can't remember) as saying that I thought Days would be our best RB once he switched away from QB. It never really materialized until, as you say, problem met opportunity. That is the way some things happen in sports. It is just so hard to say why. Presently, I am just glad he was available and had the chance at the end. Did we miss out? Yeah probably, a little bit. But man, he was so good the last few games it was definitely worth the schollie all these years. Plus, he was a great leader from a team culture / chemistry standpoint. Good locker room guys matter.Fair enough, but that would weigh in favor of him not getting playing time at any position that touched the ball, not necessarily a particular position. If Zach Laskey hadn't gotten hurt and the other kid hadn't flunked out, he never would have seen a snap at b-back this year and we all would have lamented that he never made a huge contribution.
I'm sure the staff had their reasons, but I thought his skill-set and body style were a much more natural fit at b-back than a-back.
