I think our string of good play is more about the resurgence of McCollum than the exit of DO (and an easier schedule).

McCollum said on post-game radio that he started feeling like himself again the week of the A&M game. He’s been on a tear since. 59 points over the last three games. He and LT have been ballin!

Good Guard play is essential in college basketball. We are getting that from 3 guys right now! Mustafa has potential and is improving. He has a ways to go. The other three are playing really well and complement the other's skills!

Could the team have turned a corner? The team is playing with consistent energy on both ends for a few games in a row. They look good!

Would love to see that Stoudamire has gotten his team identity to sink-in and that we fans can expect to see that kind of consistency be the norm instead of the exception.

Would love nothing more for the conversations around the program to turn to how good we can be instead of whether coach can do it at all.

Says it all tbh. You can see it in their play. They are having a lot of fun right now!

Duncan Powell is dripping with potential. I said it in the ND game thread, but his versatility will get him a look in the G League at least. Reminds me a lot of PJ Tucker. We’re a better team when he’s on the court.
That’s funny. I said the exact same thing about Tucker to my son when we were watching today. Undersized forward the cans 3’s from the corner.

McCollum and Terry are turning into stone cold killers with their shots.

George is playing smart ball even when not making shots.

Souare is turning into a decent player and you can tell his teammates are enjoying playing with him.

We played good defense and had impressive shooting, especially from 3 point range.

Would hate to miss so many free throws in a close game.

We are looking like a team, folks.

Tweeks to the offensive system - ball is now moving side to side (still based on pick and roll)
McCollum is healthy last several games and his quickness from the perimeter is a great fit for this offense.
Defensive intensity has increased on the perimeter and getting solid D/rebounding at the 5.

IMHO that is what is driving the improvement.

On the other side I still don't think Ndongo is all the way back to last year's form.
We will see how far this team can go.

Can’t tell if Ndongo is still adjusting to playing at a heavier weight or not. His touch with the ball is slightly off at times. This is most evident in moves around the rim where it looks like in mid shot he can’t decide to dunk, lay it off the glass or finger roll it. Something about him feels less fluid, less confident.

But it looks like maybe he is making progress getting back to form.

Obviously he’s still valuable given that when he appears to be off in a game he still is a double digit scorer.

Very well played game by GT today. This was the most consistent and sustained effort we’ve seen from the team this season. I hope they can keep it up moving forward.

Getting contributions from lots of different players.

I love what Nait is doing as a facilitator. He must be leading the ACC in assists and assists:turnover ratio. But, I think he could be even better if he would take his own shot more often when it’s available. If he becomes too one dimensional, it will be more difficult for him to keep setting up his teammates as effectively as he has been so far. It happened to him a few times today, when he forced lob passes instead of taking an easy open midrange shot. He was lucky to avoid 2-3 additional turnovers. Still, a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists is serious.

Ndongo continues to struggle a bit in sophomore season. Selfishly, with the team finally getting healthy and playing winning bb, this might be a blessing. An off year and maybe we get him back for a third season. Always looking for a positive.

I had to miss this one while attending a tournament today for my children. I'll dig up a replay, but it's nice to read summaries and comments about a fluid, good shooting team. I hope our run of good health holds. With some continuity, we could live up to our potential.

Biggest ACC Conference point margin win since 2021
First back to back home wins by more then 20 points each in 14 years
Both facts per post-game press conference questions.

Slight correction: first back to back home wins by double digits (in the ACC I presume), not by 20 points. The ND win was only by 11 points.

I think their top scorer Hand was completely shut down after the first few minutes of the game.
Yep. Hand only had 6 points I think. CDS implied shutting him down was a major part of the team’s game plan, and they accomplished it.

BC’s center had a big game. Eighteen points I think, but it wasn’t enough, and a good portion of his points came late in the game when we already had the game put away.
