For Funzies, what changes would you make on Offense?

It's not that something that looks like it won't work -- e.g. dive fake, speed option fake. the rpo is often done with a smoke route, a lateral that allows the linemen to release, or with slide protection that looks like zone. you could tweak the zone by adding a hole plugged with a load, but...

    My Issues With Our Coaching

Or player's unions. Thanks for standing up for your position, which I believe is realistic regarding Tech's ambitions and humanistic regarding the SAs.

Replay Study: GT Offense vs Miami

This is pretty out of the scope, but as a former catcher, I have lots of experience with this. If they know signs, they crushed it. I agree that it's hard to control your swing knowing it's coming, but it's also really hard to hit something that you didn't know was coming. Did he mean that...

    Defensive Question

Take Anthony Barr out of this and they are still good, but he is what makes the A-gap stuff work since he can play pretty much any position between edge rusher and strong safety. I saw him run for 300 yards in high school, watched him dominate O and D at UCLA, and unfortunately he isn't playing...

For Funzies, what changes would you make on Offense?

Another way to put this is that we do have a tight end set but we put a WR or OT at TE, which is not ideal. Put it does give us the arbitrage of running a power set without telegraphing the package with substitution.

For Funzies, what changes would you make on Offense?

If we keep seeing 3/4, 3-3-1 and eagling, I might have a power schemes (belly, G) package with Shamire at T. Could get Mills running behind bryan and braun in space against LBs if shamire can get push. We went to that in Q3 against CU (w/o shamtackle) and neutralized their DL by varying the...

Two no doubt amateurish ideas on our passing game

Ya, didn't check. Looks like he flipped from GaState. If I could revise, I'd say we have competent receivers at AB and we should keep them on the field. I am sure CPJ would play guys who were better receivers if we had them ready.

Jalen Camp, Brandon Adams.... why burn redshirts??

If they make the two-deep, they should burn the redshirt. If they are the best at a role now -- e.g. goal line with Adams -- they should play.

Two no doubt amateurish ideas on our passing game

Same with Searcy. Both were three star WRs in HS.

Replay Study: GT Offense vs Miami

Was the first fumble a run-pass option? It sure looked like it live -- AB was wide open in the alley and the pitch was there -- but I haven't seen the tape.

Two no doubt amateurish ideas on our passing game

Was thinking the same during the game, but curls are generally not a good idea against all the man we see. I suppose the crossing route to the AB is the closest safe pass.

    Execution

If the first play is any indication, CPJ thought they might take away the dive. The BB was to load watkins. It should be more than an easy block; watkins should crush the BB. Instead, Watkins plays it right and flies to the mesh, dodges the BB load and crushes JT. Obvious red flag here is...

    Our Offense

Complete misses are often being "out speeded", and the error rate compounds when the LOS bends back. I am sympathetic to arguments that we struggle in recruiting because of the offense. Though it does seem to open arbitrage opportunities with good athletes who are between positions (JT, Qua, JJ...

    Our Offense

would love to see cpj call plays with lamar jackson, the baylor skill guys and unc's line. i also love what he's doing with this team, but they just aren't up to clemson's front; not many are.

As Good As I Feel After Today's Win...

FWIW, in a '14-'15 NCAA database, Auburn was #11 in revenue. Tech was #42, between Texas Tech and NC State. http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/ Tech is not Auburn in many ways. Tech grads all took calculus, break down film on GTswarm, fly to ireland in droves and very often live outside...

    Klimpsun - Welcome back

Just watched their O vs. Auburn and some of the Troy game. I saw.. - Watson only kept it twice vs. gallman ~10 keeps in the zone read, and when he kept, he ran away from contact. - They seemed to check to Mike Williams if he's single covered and the down and distance allows - Mike Williams...

    Klimpsun - Welcome back

First series... 1. Clemsoning from the start... a first play QB draw. PJ spied on him and wrapped low for no gain. 2. Roll left, overthrow to scott. Announcers assume the clemsoning is due to watson's busted hand. 3. Full house blitz, checks down hot to gallman in the flat, jamal golden wraps...
