What is GT doing to its students?

Speaking from (perhaps?) a younger generation, many of my friends in oil and gas are looking to leave asap (see 10y). It's likely not that Tech is making "industry" unattractive. Rather, it's more attractive to work in perceived growth industries.

    Jahaziel Lee

For grading purposes, it's a pancake.. Actually, the pass block was perfect. what the tape doesn't show is him driving dude to the sideline.

    Jahaziel Lee

Vid #3 is close. he aims for outside thigh pad, misses but gets the man to the ground. That one was MM's long gainer iirc. Like what I see. Will be interesting to see him against a bigger, quicker D.

    Football Outsiders Ratings

TAMU/OSU is an exaggerated case of GT/PITT. If I had to guess, strength of schedule weights heavier somehow in FEI than in the component indices.

    Rewatch

In a post game a few weeks back, CPJ said it was primarily stamina but also assignments. His tone did not suggest confidence, but CPJ...

Defense against Ga Southern, and what do we do next?

Specifically, they had no downfield passing threat. We could run with their WRs so didn't need safety help. I think we should put more responsibility on our safeties. Some here have suggested rolling to a 4-2-5 with one of them rolled to the box. I am still not convinced that we have the best...

    Rewatch

Is what you want a linebacker who is keshun's size? I have asked this on another board, but is Vic Alexander noticeably missing assignments when he plays? Wondering why he doesn't get snaps, feeling a bit like the folks who think Cottrell should be as good for us as he was on HS tape.

Got to keep the safeties in the game

But not too much more undersized. He is ten pounds lighter than Mitchell.

Coin flips the same every time. Should be a fun.

What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

I often am on the "our guys are little and slow" side of these arguments, but that's a good point.

Got to keep the safeties in the game

Note that GSU is an option team with a limited, check-with-me route tree and poor/mediocre arms at qb. While we saw how our safeties run and hit, we will not be able to apply this to the air raid stuff. I would blitz the eyes out of UGA tho.

    Brad Stewart

Seems like we are going to some max protect, no read stuff, perhaps to protect a freshman left tackle and JT. It's roll, plant and throw a 50/50. Pretty impressed with brad and ricky's hands and balance, but neither of them look like burners on film. Could be that Ricky is bigger and a more...

How about them dawgs. Best friend's little brother is on the dawgstaff, and he says Chaney will be the first to go.

What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

Yeah, I guess I have been doubtful of our pass rush, and don't see the sense in blitzing PJD or either Sam. I don't have an eye for this stuff, but have we done anything schematically sound like we do on second half on offense. CPJ sometimes holds the belly, midline or counter until he sees...

What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

Not to point out a detail in an argument that's more about possibility and counter factuals than facts, but they didn't score on every drive. We recovered a fumble that led to a score and a pick six bounced off Austin twin #17. I think part of the strategy is assuming that more, plays (bend)...

What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

Glad you mentioned. Got me reading.. For kicks, I'll try to make sense of that... The "2" is a widened cover 2+a tracer from the middle of the field. That implies 2 players at safety depth to cover the jamming corner's over top. The 46 is an understacked 8 man-for-man front with one safety...

    Clinton Lynch Next Level?

The lead ABs always have high ypc, bc they get option pitches and tosses, with very few chamces for negative plays. A proper comp might be a slot receiver ypr with the deep breaking routes and go's thrown out.

What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

The option works for tech/navy because *primarily* because it's an arbitrage on the hardest thing to recruit, and the biggest advantage that factories maintain: the interior line. 1. OL to second level Factories recruit and produce interior lineman. Ignore (option) them and recruit short...

    Linebacker play

When I flipped the game up from my laptop to the tv screen, my girlfriend immediately, without thinking, said "wow, they are much bigger than the jackets." the D is more or less a position-level too small at every level. e.g. Pat Gamble is DE sized, Keshun is OLB sized, our CBs are nickels and...
