  1. Film Room Tax 3 Defense Slow Motions

Play looks like a RPO, and the alignment dictated run. Was the alignment off? Looks like a great play by Lawrence to get over there. The Safeties were almost 15 yards off the line and backpedaling. If we thought it was going to be a run play, wouldn't you run at least run the safety up on the...
  2. Is this the year we get a U vs FSU...

I'm of the opinion it's going to either be Miami -Clemson or GT-FSU, depending on who wins the Miami-FSU game. I think it's almost going to take an undefeated ACC season in the Atlantic to make it.
  3. Bill Connelly's 2017 GT Preview

Miami didn't run the ball well. They seemed to try to run the clock out in the second half. Whenever we got close in score, they'd start throwing again to get it not close. I've said Richt would have won the UGA game last year. He knows to bide his time when he's got a big enough lead....
  4. Bill Connelly's 2017 GT Preview

When they passed, they moved up and down the field. They didn't move the ball when they ran it. They passed when it was a single score game, and ran when they were up by 2 scores. Mark Richt called a conservative game like he usually does, and got more aggressive when he needed to. Game wasn't...
  5. The Pros and Cons for 2017

In terms of NFL talent, I think the 2006 team probably had more. The finish of that year probably sealed CCGs fate that he couldn't win big at GT. Should've won 12+ with that talent....
  6. JT and Dedrick place in all-time CPJ team

I'd go with Smelter over Hill because of consistency. I think we win the ACCCG in 14 with Smelter. Although I think the 2 big misses were misreads by JT vs Waller (looked like option routes), but Smelter was on the same page with JT almost every play. And I'd be tempted to put Lynch or Jones...
  7. Debate it!!!

I think it would depend on when during the season you played. The 09 team had a decent defense at the beginning of the season, and went downhill from there (CJ Spiller was MVP of the ACCCG that year when we won!). The 14 D started pretty week, and I think was top 25 Defense over the the last 4-5...
  8. Ok Make your Statement

Let's be honest, 09 was the 3rd game in 12 days on a Thursday night in the swamp known as Miami. The Clemson game the week before we held on by the skin of our nails. Kind of fun in 09 to be at the Duke game. Miami was playing at UNC later that day and a few fans made their way over to Wallace...
  9. Rate the best GT FB player...

I'm a little more modern era, but I'd add PJ Daniels. Jonathan Smith was another one who was reliable for his first 3 years and had an outstanding Senior year. Mario Butler was solid his whole time at Tech.
  10. What would've happened...

I seem to recall that Donley was going to switch to D after his freshman year. What if on 4th and 1, Patrick Nix calls TC up the middle instead of CJ on a reverse?
  11. Here's the early line for the GT-Tennessee game

Way too early before seeing the results of the Fulmer Cup standings....
  12. Life after Paul Johnson.... hypothetical question

I think Goose is about a year or 2 away from getting his NFL shot. I would think it would be hard to get him home. And CTR isn't that much younger than CPJ. Average age of HC hired this past year was 46, with the median much lower. I just don't see that happening. ADs want to hire future...
  13. Mark Bradley's steaming pile of poop

Interesting that an editor would let out an article with that much inconsistency. Probably both trending up, but we'll see soon how good of a coach CKS really is...
  14. The Best of: Offensive Line

    1. Shaq Mason 2. Andrew Gardner 3. Nat Dorset vs. Julius Peppers 4. Iowa 09 was another one who was impressive
  15. The Best of: Linebacker

    1. Phillip Wheeler....although, I've got a pretty good feeling about Brandt Mitchell...Daryl Smith was another special one 2. The block by Gary Guyton against VT. Gladiator against Knowshow was another good one. 3. Van Noy was pretty good. EJ Henderson at Maryland was another one who ate Gailey...
  16. The Best of: Running Back

    1. Jon Dwyer was fun to watch in his prime. Also loved Tashard Choice'so passion for the game. 2. I think it was against Vandy and I was sitting up in the partially finished north stands. TD Tony Hollings absolutely blew up the angle against the DB on a sweep. Incredible play. Lots of other good...
  17. Best Kick/Punt Returner You Remember...

Kelley took advantage of a rule change, but was fun to watch. I'm not sure I've got the nerve to stand there with someone coming at me at full speed trying to light me up. Another one that did pretty good with his one year was Jonathan Smith. Didn't he have a game against UNC where he returned...
  18. FSU's first td in the ACCCG

PJ was lost and trying to find out what he was supposed to do before the play. He was looking to Q to figure out the coverage plan, and then just tried to do something...
  19. Favorite Counter run, run

I think the difference is the footwork by the QB. As opposed to sprinting to the edge, there is a feint to the middle first.
  20. Favorite Counter run, run

Early on in our option days, I loved the Freeze Option Play with Dwyer It was absolutely deadly 1-2 times a game.
