Was our defense hamstrung in the past?

Exactly what they said, but we should take it with a grain of salt and not as gospel.

Was our defense hamstrung in the past?

The proof is in the pudding. I remember a whole lotta talk from giddy D players after Woody’s spring. FWIW, I hope they’re right.

    Spring Game Postgame Thread

First, the color was way off compared to the gold on the helmet (Old Gold). I don’t care what people say about different materials, it was obvious no attempt was made to come close to matching. Second, white with no outline on that muted baby poop gold is not clean or classy, it’s dumb and...

    Spring Practice

My guess is there will be a famous rapper roaming the sidelines. I doubt there will be a performance, but you never know. It would be extremely foolish not to publicize it ahead of time.

CPJ's O ripped CGC's DBs at Miss State

Yeah losing Mills was lack of adaptation to a changing game. Lucas Johnson was the heir apparent to jet but he got hurt in the preseason. More lack of adaptation there. We lost our #1 kicker commit to Bama, then the number two guy hurts his leg. I call injuries and dismissals bad luck...

CPJ's O ripped CGC's DBs at Miss State

Quality depth at the most important positions has always been an issue and probably always will be.

Shapiro needs to let it go

As others have stated, he didn’t suffer fools. Or jerks for that matter.

Shapiro needs to let it go

I get that, but that wasn't Paul, as 33 said. One of his biggest selling points to recruits is that he was genuine, what you see is what you get. There's nothing fake about him. If he tried to put on the schmoozer hat like our current HC, it would have stood out like a sore thumb as fake...

CPJ's O ripped CGC's DBs at Miss State

When you live on the margin talentwise and then you have a lot of bad luck wrt the talent you were really counting on (injuries, dismissals, transfers).... it's real hard to be good. That said, the OP's point is still true.

Shapiro needs to let it go

One thing that had me shaking my head just a tiny bit was when one of the talking heads quoted a listener who said (paraphrasing) "I'm not even an alumnus but I'm excited about taking a 5 minute Uber to GT on Saturday because they decided to play modern football...." I know it's small, but...

    Attrition and Scholarship Limits

This thread should be titled simply: Oversigning, are you ok with it? My answer is no. It puts a program at risk of doing things unethical wrt to the team's interest vs the SA's. It becomes unethical if promises, implied or stated, are broken. Coaches are forced to use creative ways to...

    Attrition and Scholarship Limits

I have no number. The reasons for the attrition is what I’m interested in. If the reasons are acceptable, I’m fine with just about any number. If he forces one guy out who wants to stay... no bueno.

    Attrition and Scholarship Limits

I have always believed GT needed low attrition to be successful. We don’t have the luxury of reloading with field ready freshmen like the factories. Then again, we had the ‘14 and ‘16 seasons in the midst of the attrition deluge you so aptly described. So what do I conclude from that? I’d...

680 Boosting CGC and Georgia Tech Tomorrow

The biggest positive take away I get is that there is no animosity between the radio personalities and our coach. Having a positive relationship with the press, even knucklehead press, can’t hurt.

I appreciate all of the data you put forth, but I don’t see a conclusion. What do you make of all that?
