It's just amazing. Somebody compliments your program and you tell them they know nothing. "We are a terrible job and we are lucky to finish 500 despite a solid tradition." It's like some of our fans just want us to be terrible. It's just mind-boggling to me.
Not at all. I think our program can recruit better than what it has under CPJ while my opponents say we can’t. Some are saying we are like a military academy playing in the ACC with all the restrictions we have. Some say we will be lucky to win 6 games a year with a new coach although there is...
My issue is the pro CPJ guys often times run down our program to prop him up. I believe that can have a negative impact on our program and I don’t want those that are so negative about our program to make that the standard narrative. It can become a negative self fulfilling prophecy.
I’d encourage you to think before you post. There was not an ACCCG when O’Leary was coaching nor an Orange Bowl tie in. Both coaches won one ACC Championship.
Does it bother you some fans run down what you guys did in an effort to make Johnson look better?
I mean, I believe you were on an ACC championship team weren’t you?
I’m trying to figure out the angle in which saying a coach with a winning percentage below his 2 predecessors is the greatest coach in 50 years at our program. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
O’Leary had some classes that were ranked higher around the turn of the century. The one with Daryl Smith and Key Fox was certainly rated higher. But you are right in it was far better than our normal year.
