I’ll pose one question at a time with you.
Let’s start here. If GT’s limited number of majors is a significant challenge in recruiting, then how do you explain the successful O’Leary years in regards to recruiting. Keep in mind that our degree options have not decreased over the past 18...
I don't think anyone is arguing that Tech does not face some recruiting challenges. I think it's obvious that we do. The question is are those challenges the chief culprit for our current state of recruiting or is it a coach that runs a wildly unpopular offense with high school recruits and...
Good day team.
There has been a ton of discussion recently about the challenges Georgia Tech faces on the recruiting trail and what our reasonable expectations should be as a program in this area. As most of us agree, a programs ability to recruit talent is one of, if not the most important...
Buddy I’ve given you examples time and time again. I’ve schooled you enough on this topic and the fact you still don’t understand my perspective on recruiting speaks volumes to your intelligence.
My problem with this line of reasoning is Johnson is still offering a ton of people and is virtually never beating out any factories. The offers indicate we believe they could handle it academically here but we are closing on a very low percentage of our top priorities.
The argument that...
Lol. So do you have evidence of it not happening? Let me give one example. 03 we lost half our starters on D before the season started due a failure in our compliance department. We beat Auburn that year and went to a bowl game.
Ok. I wonder how many times during our 18 year bowl streak we had an unusually high amount of injuries or dismissals. I’d bet they happened numerous times and yet we found a way to overcome them. Unfortunately what an entire generation of tech fans grew up expecting in a bowl game now feels...
My critique of Johnson has everything to do with the direction of our program as a whole. The head coach is ultimately responsible for the entirety of the program. If we are below what I feel our modern standards are then I don’t care if his offense is working or not.
No it just means that when his star players were recruited by Gailey and he had talent on par with the teams he was playing against he was a dynamite coach and batted a thousand on producing quality teams. Since he has had to rely on the players he has recruited to lead the way he is under 500...
I’m wondering how you came to the determination that Johnson was more successful than O’Leary? 5 straight top 25 finishes by O’Leary is pretty impressive. I can’t see where Johnson comes close to anything like that. Granted Johnson did have great years in 09 and 14 which one can argue O’Leary...
Once again I’m stunned at the negative view of our program by some of our fans and quite honestly the ignorance of our recent history.
Nobody should deny the success O’Leary and his staff had on the recruiting trail. He had 3 straight top 25 classes before he left and was regularly beating out...
