  1. Possible D Staff

Looks like a bunch of the App State guys that stayed behind are getting promotions, FWIW. The ILB and DB coaches are being named co-DCs.
  2. Strength & Conditioning

His predecessor (Clough) started this, it certainly isn't unique to Peterson. Graduate programs also bring in far, far more money than undergrads, which is important when the state slashes the budget every year. At least you got a nice new undergrad lab building in the center of campus - most...
  3. Dodd Coach of the Year

Anyone besides Bill Clark at UAB is an insane choice, IMO. They won 9 friggin games after not having a team last year.
  4. Strength & Conditioning

GT does research that makes money, and professors DGAF about athletics for the most part.
  5. UCF Revisted

Which is why you have an auto bid for the best G5 and two more at large bids. Even in a year where two P5 champions are not great, you'd still cover everyone with a legit claim.
  6. UCF Revisted

ND would count as an at-large in my system, though they should join a P5 conference. The others would be allowed to use the G5 slot if they qualified. Giving a handout to a mid-teens team is far cheaper than fighting an antitrust lawsuit, though. I'm starting to suspect we will see a "CFB...
  7. UCF Revisted

I would say "But Academics!" but the office already showed they don't care about that by adding Louisville. I'd rather add WVU to get the Backyard Brawl back (and they're a better basketball team), but I don't really care who ACC Member 16 is as long as they adopt a sane scheduling system (aka...
  8. UCF Revisted

Only 2 at-larges due to the G5 auto-bid, but I still think that catches anyone with a legit claim to a title chance.
  9. UCF Revisted

Any expansion past 4 will have to have an auto-bid for the best G5 team or there will be lawsuits. They'll almost always be the 8/12 seed (16 teams is too many even for me). UCF @ Clemson would have been a pretty fun game this year. 8 teams this year would have looked like this: Clemson (ACC...
  10. UGA recruiting article

Tech students take paid internships. I got $20+/hr before my senior year in 2008. I imagine the rate for tech interns is higher now.
  11. Next DC

P5 DC pays better than FCS HC. And offers a better career path to being an FBS HC if you want that. Assuming he is who we want, anyway.
  12. Roof Out as DC

A quick bit of stat checking has me liking the App State guy. They've been top-25 in Havok Rate (aka big plays on D) the last two seasons, and we've been 109 and 123.
  13. Head Coaches salaries

http://www.open.georgia.gov/index.html Our athletic coaches draw a portion of their salary from the school, which is the typical arrangement. CPJ got $380k in 2016.
  14. Harvin selected Freshman All-American

5-win teams don't usually rack up AA slots.
  15. Peach County Jobbed in State Championship Game

 There's grown-*** men on this board still whining about calls in UGA games a decade ago.
  16. Auburn/Georgia talent vs GT

Eason is gonna transfer out, and Fromm is someone he thinks he can probably beat. Maybe not year 1, but after a RS year I wouldn't be surprised.
  17. Talent

The best kids often have 50-75 offers from various FBS schools. Many teams can evaluate talent just fine, but that doesn't mean you can actually get them to show up at your school.
  18. 2017 Coaching Carousel

Apparently the AD used to be his agent. I would be apoplectic if I were an ASU fan.
  19. Football Study Hall on "Coaches who aren't good enough"

The board is just a rubber stamp for whatever the AD wants anyway. And 3 students makes sense - 1 is a S-A, 1 is SGA, and I don't know about the other.
  20. CPJ & Nebraska

Football isn't that simple. Cut is a dang good coach, and there are very few guys out there that could do what he's done at Duke.
