My point is that it’s hard to blame playing against our offense in the spring as the primary reason why our defense is bad when army can do it and be good. I know they have a good DC, maybe our DC wasn’t good enough. Maybe it was because it was his first year. How many of our DL‘s or LB’s...
“Too many guys on this squad just happy to have a jersey instead of any true ballers and playmakers.”
@Ibeeballin, I’m trying to square this quote with your percentages and it just ain’t happening.
Lesser athletes and lesser coaching typically yield lesser results. Schemes, especially the scheme of the side of the ball that’s not even being measured, not so much.
Well now we have the perfect experiment. No more option. Tons of defensive practice reps. Let’s see what the defense does. If yours and the players theory is true then they should be head and shoulders better than last year.
“But, but, but....”
But what?
Army was number 10 in scoring defense last year. They were number 11 in yards allowed. Didn’t they practice against the option in spring? Let’s use some common sense.
BS. So you’re saying if you’ve got good players then you can have a good defense even if you have an offense that is robbing practice reps from the defense? Army doesn’t have Bama’s players.
Didn’t army have a pretty good defense last year? I think I remember Georgia Southern having stellar defenses too back when PJ was the coach. If the option offense caused our defense to suck it would cause all option-paired defenses to suck.
I tend to agree, but I'd expect some level of support after Tech knows a kid has a problem. In this case, still not sure an appropriate level of support wasn't given.
I imagine we'll have some nice promotions to sell tickets to local Atlanta area nonfans in hopes of converting them into sidewalk fans. At least I hope we do.
As an aside, I’ll share a personal story with you guys. I drove up to South Bend with my ND grad brother to watch
a ND game a few years back. It was snowing it was icy it was very cold. But it was very fun.
I remember having a snowball fight at our tailgate and not needing a cooler because we...
Well we know at least some of the games will be packed out. Clemson and ND have tons of fans. On a personal note, it lets me watch my two favorite teams go at it, I will definitely be driving to Atlanta for the ND game. I will definitely be pulling for my jackets.
