No doubt Augusta and I appreciate your research! I've tried to do something similar but was stymied by the lack of data beyond 02.
I would argue that much of our issue with flunkgate was administrative but that point can be debated as well.
I love data. It's what has to drive debate. Unfortunately this data leaves out the O'Leary years which were just before this. Oleary had brought in 3 consecutive top 25ish classes before he left. I've tried to research this but the current databases only go back to 02. What I was able to...
We have to give the new coach 4 years to get out of this mess. Our talent level is ridiculously low. So low that Johnson, who I believe is a great college coach, went 24-24 over the last 4 years.
Agreed with everything other than the 07 class being the best in 20 years at that time. O'Leary was consistently recruiting similar classes before he left.
This post just shows a complete lack of understanding about the state of our program now compared to 07. But I see it consistently from the pro Johnson guys. Johnson had his highest 2 year total of wins in his first 2 years here. The reason is it was the most talented teams he had and the...
Interesting. I've said on here multiple times that we can't be concerned with Clemson or UGA right now. They are on a different planet. I think the smart thing to do is try to be the kings of the Coastal and go from there.
Not the ones I’ve spoke with. They were sad to see Johnson go. I’ve heard a lot of comments a long the lines of “I bet your happy to be getting a real offense.”
Your point about not being able to mold young qb’s is certainly a fair one. But the Heisman trophy is completely irrelevant to pro performance. Most Heisman winning qb’s are bust in the NFL.
I don’t get the hate for Whisenhunt. He has good reputation in the NFL and has had a long career there.
I would be excited about the hire. Certainly more excited than Tony Elliot who has proven absolutely nothing in my mind. I don’t get the love for him.
Edited to add I’m going to support...
Not sure he has a better chance at being successful at South Carolina and I would say less of a chance at Arkansas. I don’t see the appeal there. They are clearly one of the bottom feeders in that division. That’s a tough job.
I think that’s the point here. It’s just a fact that more fans equals more revenue that will in turn lead to better facilities. GT alums unfortunately turn some people off with what appears to be arrogant elitism. I would suggest that even if this is justified, make sure that you are aware of...
