With how big conferences have gotten, the only way to have “fair & balanced” schedules is not have any permanent opponents. Go to 9 conf games and have it where you play every team every 4 years if not every 2-3.

Go divisions, have a team win their division at 8-4/7-5, go to conference championship and wins and a 9-4/8-5 acc team is in the cfp. Yeah, people would lose their collective **** over that. Only way that doesn’t happen is if all the other conf chaps are ranked higher. And if the acc runner up...
