Yep this year is was one where we didn't make the big plays at times. Really was the difference. Last year we pulled out of close games with Ws. I'll state his here and I'm sure I'll get arguments against but really what game did the D lose for us? Clemson we got beat in all phases. The d played...
It seems like this year we dropped the INTs. We just didn't make plays. The one that sticks out in my head is the UNC game where if DJ catches it he probably returns it and swings the game back in Techs favor. Some years you make the plays, this year players just didn't.
I understand why people hold Tenuta in high regards but he had better talent at UVA and his stats were horrible this past year. While I know he was good at tech offenses were different back then and his scheme of blitzing has gotten him burned recently.
Ted didn't have a full season to recruit in 13. He barely had a month. I think he's doing a good job. It was apparent that at some point in time injuries would become overwhelming. Now I do want him to be more aggressive at times. I think he's bringing in more athletic defensive players. I loved...
I think our OL is having a hard time getting push on the DL. This is causing our guys to be late getting to the second level. Some of that comes from the defense being extremely aggressive with flow of that MLB. I would like to see us not motion our ABs every once and awhile and see what that...
We still are having a really hard time getting to the MLB. On JTs long run, the FSU MLB over ran the play. If he didn't it would have been a marginal gain. We really aren't blocking the second level effectively. This improves the run game will be dangerous.
If we came out throwing I think it would put our opponent in shock and may get them off tilt as long as we are able to make them pay for their defensive scheme. This game will be interesting because Pitt has a pretty good defense. It will be interesting to see what changes. Wasn't it 2012 when...
@ATL1 completely agree. I was there. They were respecting the passing game till we got to 3rd down. We need to loosen the defense up with some throws. I would like to see some roll outs that give JT the run/pass option. I know we need to run it but we need to throw it as well on nontypical...
Not necessarily. I won't get into all the Xs and Os but you can have the same personnel on the field and show something other than a 4-2-5 or base defense. It's the reason our offense is hard to have different personnel groupings. We have the same people on the field all the time. We don't bring...
Just young and unproven. Agree about the depth. Henderson will be interesting to watch given he will have spring under his belt and the benefit of working out with teammates.
Depth doesn't wouldn't deter me from getting the best players on the field. Gamble can learn to fire off and hold his ground. Another year in the strength program will be great for him. Would be interested given our DT depth if the 3-3-5 stays and becomes anything more. Could sways have a hybrid...
The DL in my mind played lights out during the bowl game. MSU got a ton of yardage but we weren't losing the battle in the trenches. We got pressure on the QB. The DL was working hard during passing downs. During the beginning of the season I saw a lot of them get stuck in mud and had a hard...
Oh I understand. Just trying to state that 1 the defense described in the original 5 points would be good against a majority of offenses. I haven't seen much of msu this year but I will say that our OL has shown they can handle some pretty good defensive players. In years past we had a hard time...
Isn't this the formula for all offenses. To me when we have been stopped by a defense it's been physically being manhandled. There's has been times this was the case but we weren't running the offense as well:
The option isn't only about having a good front 7. It helps but the DBs are important as well. If they are weak at corner we could cause them to play back a little more with our play action.
