I was originally going to laugh about the Wake Forest comment earlier, but I looked it up, and the majority of their games are not in the noon window.
I actually don’t hate the noon games, but they do get old in September, and we seem to always have no fewer than three September home games...
I agree completely about the tackles. We didn’t block an inside linebacker all season. And if you can’t block him, the numbers advantage disappears, regardless of the direction of the play. And if we can’t run, we can’t throw.
On offense, because the nature of what we do is so different, it’s challenging for guys to get recognition. I mean, let’s say Marshall had an amazing year by option standards (say 2,500 yards passing and 1,200 yards rushing). He’d still be competing against guys who have thrown for almost...
Isn’t the larger issue here that they’re acting like they’re doing us a favor? If they need more money and view this as an avenue toward achieving that objective, fine. But effing say that. Don’t patronize me by telling me how you’re actually helping me out.
This is exactly the kind of tone deaf bull**** that will end up doing more harm. They gave season ticket holders a nice perk with the bag to bring food in, and under the guise of improving the fan experience, are now taking that away. Now I’ll get to buy a $5 bottle of water and a crappy hot...
The issue with the noon games is that we seem to have a front-loaded home schedule every season, so you end up with three noon games in September, which sucks. Noon games in late October or November don’t bother me much.
It’s worth pointing out that the schools will need to do something to...
Not to nitpick . . . okay, definitely to nitpick, but Bay Bay Thomas wasn’t part of the 2007 class. That was his redshirt year.
Also, he was a three star recruit with offers from Duke and Indiana (though South Carolina jumped in late).
Expectations for excellence cannot be part of the list. You can expect anything you want, but if you don’t have the infrastructure to meet expectations, then who the hell cares? Moreover, the financial resources cannot be divorced from coaching and facilities, which cannot be divorced from...
This ignores their touchdown at the end of the first half, and it ignores the fact that they only needed three points, not seven. Had they needed a touchdown, I’d agree with you.
This strikes me as an odd criticism when we wouldn’t even be playing now anyway. I’m not really interested in practice updates, and a bowl game against some random school, while better than no game at all, is only marginally worse.
The issue isn’t whether we’d attract more better players. Let’s stipulate that we would if we ran a more conventional offense.
The issue is whether we could recruit a critical mass of them to beat teams running substantially similar things. If the answer is yes, then making a change makes...
