He wasn’t. I came by the tailgate for the 2014 UVA game, when it was about 50 below with hurricane force winds. Legitimately the coldest Tech home game I’ve ever been to.
It’s also the one that convinced me that we were good that year. We played pretty poorly and still won by four touchdowns.
It’s a big deal because the offense gets continuity at many of the skill positions. If the offensive line is even average, the offense should be pretty good. And if we see any improvement from the defense. . .
God, someone stop me from talking myself into believing we’re gonna have a big season.
Yep. I went by there today, which was a bad idea. I intended to buy one polo for gamedays and walked out with . . . more than that.
They have plenty of stock, though.
I don’t disagree. You’ll generally lose some of the close games. But it isn’t like it’s murderer’s row. There isn’t a team we face other than Clemson where I think we have no shot.
I really don’t understand the doom and gloom. And I really don’t get measuring the program by how much they talk about us on the radio. A lot of the games will be coin flips, but it’s not crazy to see us getting to the Miami game at 8-1.
Here’s my issue. Is, say, Erin Joe below average? If so, why? There’s no reasoning given for the classification, so it’s basically just your own memory of a given player, which is a . . . suboptimal way of doing this.
Ah, yes, classifying players using no discernible objective criteria. I have so many questions. Is this at all related to their expected performance- i.e. does this assume a two star who started for his senior season probably overachieved, or the four star who started sporadically...
It really just depends on what the goal for the individual is, which is dependent upon the staff’s evaluation of the player. If they think the player has an opportunity to contribute more than a nominal amount, this gives them the opportunity to play the kid more heavily in early games to be...
I guess my point is that each year is independent of one another, and just because there’s continuity doesn’t mean things will be better. For example, he rates our receivers as the worst in the league. It is one thing to say they are unproven, which is valid, but another to say they aren’t...
Yep. It’s a unicorn coaches chase. The hope is that Woody can maximize the output of the talent we have by using their skills in a more efficient manner, and hopefully improve tackling.
