Stansbury talks w/ Jeff Schultz and Zach Klein

I came away impressed with Tstan. You can't fake his passion and knowledge of trends and internal GT stuff. Coincidentally, as I was listening to the stream, I tried to get in touch with my uncle (a former SA) and found out he would get back to me tomorrow because he and some friends were...

    WR corps next year

Ricky is a big loss. I am holding out hope for Sanders or for camps ball skills to improve. He seems to be learning and does everything else well. And in my perfect world, we would feature TQM as a KOR/PR and AB. I think he is our best open field runner, but he has to have a lot if things go...

    Potential defensive depth chart

I hope this system allows us to put best 11 on the field. My totally uninformed take... Branch//Glanton//St. Amour Swilling//Mitchell//Alexander//Henderson Kerr//Johnson//Gray//Simmons Would love if Adams, Owens and Griffin took significant snaps. I expect KCH will be in the rotation as...

    WR corps next year

As we often do when discussing total defense vs. efficiency adjust metric, we should adjust completion percentage to account for the high risk nature of the throws. This O will never have a 70% completion percentage throwing either on long down and distance or play action home-run balls. Our...

    Jay Jones Transferring

It's a pretty well known phenomenon in pro baseball. Scouts and front office stake their rep on a guy, pay out a huge signing bonus and that guy is promoted. It can often result in a guy being promoted above his level. From a behavioral econ perspective, it's clearly promoting a sunk cost...

Selling academics at Tech AND CPJ's offense

And a big kid can also get bigger. We shouldn't kid ourselves that we don't want big, fast guys.

    Possible D Staff

There was no ACCCG while O'Leary coached. First one was '05.

    Wisconsin

I didn't check their roster to see if defection / injury resulted in 10 4 star guys leaving, but I counted 16 4 stars on ESPN. Also there's this, in 2016 from this article: Wisconsin vs. S&P+ top 10 (1-3): Avg. percentile performance: 76% | Avg. yards per play: Opp 5.6, UW 5.0 (minus-0.6) |...

    Revealing Stats - Mediocre Year

It was ~65 yards of offense lost per game. I would like to see how many first downs and TDs that took off the board.

    Rational Off-season Discussion Thread

    1. QB should be a competition with TQ as the 1. All four of them should be given every chance to win it and at least get snaps.* 2. I hope we try to get the best 11 on the field. If that means switching a B to A or a QB to A or an A to WR, we should do that. I have a soft spot for big A's and...

    IMO : Clean Old-Fashioned Hate 2017

We have not stopped their running game over the last three years.

Why don't we run Triple Option anymore?

The biggest gap in A back production is receiving yards. It's gone from 60+ yards a game in '16 to ~20 yards a game this year. That is the intermediate passing game.

    Source? Not doubting. Genuinely curious.

Special Teams as we end year. BOTH WAYS COVERAGE AND RETURNS

IMO, special teams is a reflection of depth and we don't have much. As CPJ said, we had to put nearly all starters on it last week. We also dropped from an All American kicker to a ~replacement level guy.

Don't recall. Hope cpj doesn't have to persuade his coaches.

He said BJS will stick at mike, Vic at Sam, and brant will cross train.

Justin Fuente gave us that one!

This is a real announcery thing to say, but I think we are a couple playmakers away from these wins. The ball tends to bounce in no one team's direction. We need a few more guys who can grab it.

Justin Fuente gave us that one!

To me, it highlighted the difference between offensive schemes. Fuente's defense of the call was that it was the best possible one-on-one matchup. CPJ -- for better or worse -- defends his calls with "we had more guys than them if we execute". E.g. the UT final play. I like fuente's offense...

    The B-back Mesh

It may have also allowed dwyer to get better depth on speed option, which we ran a lot. I would like to see a bigger AB in the mix, but that may require spring.
