Seems Graham is bigger than jones and has better top end speed. I wish we still had Jones but I understand why he left -- practicing football is tough, playing is fun.
I'm seconding the request for anyone at the game to be a hero and stream some of it. I live in California, so it's going to be pretty hard to get out of court in time to make kickoff...
CPJ knows the passing game needs to improve. Just watch Duke offensive cuts. They just left guys (underneath) uncovered since it was better for them to disrupt mesh and the slow developing passing game than to cover guys that we just weren't hitting. The run game was basically unstoppable...
Front seven could be a strength if we can get solid NT play and ASA doesn't get washed. Everyone else is a prototype for this system, and we have depth.
Seems like he doesn't quite separate like Walker, bebe or hill. Was shocked to see that smelter has 11 inch hands, which was 99th percentile among drafted WRs.
Wonder if there are ways (smoke routes I guess) to use jalens strength and size.
I am pretty encouraged that CPJ and TQM are on the same page as many of us with TQM's passing struggles -- just need to hit the "wide open" guys. As a former catcher, I agree with CPJ that altering arm slot / release mechanics is too much too late at this point. Simple footwork can go a long...
Is it feasible to have a short yardage package with all three of them? Rewatching 2015's Miami game, it would have been nice to have dedrick and Marshall in for RT / zone and counter / zone looks.
There were opportunities for backups to start last year, but a walk on beat them out. My guess is we played the guys who were field ready, like we did in '15 starting three freshmen.
I am not worried about us not developing OL. I am worried that we don't have the roster depth to survive two...
I am aware of our roster. I just dont think we have that many quality backups. Ivemeyer is not an acc lineman and he was first up. We had plenty of opportunitylast year.
Ya, I am excited to see him too. TQM has a leg up on LJ, but TO looks like a good all around guy. Just never know what it looks like at full speed until you see it.
I was a big Jay Jones guy, but I think TQM can be good if not great with either an improvement in the pitch phase or some better vision in the pass game. A lot of his picks were either unforced or just plain bad ideas; if he can swap a few of those for check-downs to the As then we can be...
I love Marshawn as much as the next guy, but he is not on our roster.
Last year, we ran a lot of called dives and variations off of it -- trap, follow, etc. I like that we'll be strong up the middle running. I expect marginal improvements in the TO and our line will be strong barring injury...
I think Lynch wasn't 100% or close to it. I like Qua a lot and don't blame him for getting out of bounds. he's rail thin.
I want us to try packages with our best 11 if that includes Benson, Howard, or Ponchez-Mason at A.
I posted this on the QB battle thread last year, but TQM's shuttle time (the quickness we see) was elite out of high school:

This is my concern with LJ, not that I have seen enough to know one way or the other.
And yeah, OP is just wrong about who we've recruited and started at QB.
