Wes and his partner in the booth were complaining about that a lot last week too. I think it’s more the font making numbers look very similar so the lighter color just makes it that much harder to distinguish the smaller details. A slightly thicker border would probably make a big difference.
In a CBS article on KB, I saw this note:
“Benson was an All-ACC pick in 2017 after rushing for 1,053 yards and totaling five 100-yard games in his first season as a starter in Johnson's offense. He is eligible for a medical redshirt for this season, which would extend his eligibility to 2020.”...
He was a coverage beast, but I best remember him tracking down returners who had broken through the line and were running to daylight. He was FAST for a kicker.
Before anyone asks, the “drop kick” mentioned in the rule is not a punt, but instead kicking it off a bounce. I seem to remember Doug Flutie (I think it was him) kicking an extra point on a drop kick.
Also, I’m pretty confident the coaches would have asked all specialists to take a shot at KO to...
We’re GT, we aren’t allowed to have nice things. Of course he was going to be out for the season after playing only ~2.5 quarters of game time. I just hope and pray he’s able to come back next year at 100% and show out for the scouts...he’s got NFL talent for sure, just needs to be able to show...
Fun fact about this ranking...after last weekend we went from 45-26, while USF went from 47-40. My guess is the formula minimizes special teams impact to focus on offense and defense...kind of like we did during the game.
Mason is looking solid, but Benson is just on another level. The biggest hit we’d take if he’s out for a while is in the depth...it’s very beneficial to be able to rotate a competent BB in to give the starter a breather, and this injury makes that platoon less effective.
Rod F’n Gilmore...I hate when this dude calls our games. I don’t think I’ve heard another announcer with as much disdain for a style of play as this fool has for our O. I’m getting tempted to use the GT radio call and deal with whatever delay there is.
I think we roll on offense with KirVonte leading the way with 150+ and a couple TDs, and our defense thrives when USF starts feeling the pressure that our grinding offense puts on opposing offenses. Score is probably 38-20 or thereabouts
