    The "Collins effect "........

Looks like an IMG player got a brand new F150 Raptor. Pretty coincidental that it happened on signing day, don’t you think?

    The "Collins effect "........

Did you miss the fact that he RETIRED and was not fired? I think the main reason he’s not here anymore is because it was damn frustrating coaching a team when half of your fans are actively rooting against you because they don’t like your offensive style even though it was worlds better than the...

    The "Collins effect "........

Is recruiting the goal, or is it winning games? How many ACC championships or Orange Bowls did Gailey and O’Leary get us to?

    Graham Academically Ineligible

His only pass in the VT game he slipped with his plant foot and the ball came out terribly. He didn’t really need to pass any more that game though. You’re probably thinking of UNC, where he went 2-2.

    Nate Woody . . .

On the flip side, any offensive commits we have that don't fit the new scheme and want to go somewhere they have a better chance at playing time might have an option if they are ok with the whole "mandatory service" thing. Same for any defensive commits, but they would likely find familiar...

    QB Johnson injured - UPDATE

Yeah that's what I was thinking when I saw that. I swear we had another guy in the past 10-15 years who's career got completely derailed by a Lisfranc injury (not talking about Marshall here either, I think there was another). I hope he's truly back at full strength by spring, that'd be a HUGE...

“I got out” bad for recruiting

Maybe I'm a terrible person, but I'm laughing at every second of that video. And that guy who bailed...at least he steered it away from hitting one guy, and possibly the guy giving chase asked him to jump off so he could stop it. Either way, thank God for the camera operators being on point that...

    OC Hire

That dude working side by side with Derrick Moore might get the team too amped up to play. They might try to literally run through a brick wall, severely injuring half the team.

    OC Hire

That article makes Brian Kelly look worse than Paul Johnson. Paul crapped on his opponent, but Kelly crapped all over Tuitt’s hometown. Stay classy, Brian.

    Did GT, dodge a bullet?

They apparently were in communication with the AD's office. The AD's office can absolutely tell the incoming coach that all commitments need to be honored (as I would hope our AD told all prospective coaches he interviewed). They were absolutely in a position to make that assurance, but...

    Did GT, dodge a bullet?

You just put a quote from our coach regarding a player who decommitted (in a discussion of committed players having their offers pulled out from under them, so different situation) and said "It happens, but feel bad for kids with no other options". You'll have to forgive me for thinking you were...

    Did GT, dodge a bullet?

Do you actually believe we would have prevented Renfree from joining the team if he had wanted to try running Johnson’s offense? No, we would have let him on the team, proven to him that he was by far the worst fit for the system, and then put him on scout team (probably would have helped our...

    Did GT, dodge a bullet?

What you wrote here makes sense, but the key word here is “option”. If a kid wants to go somewhere else where they’ll fit better, they should be allowed to. However if a kid still wants to go there and try their best to fit in the new system, they should be allowed that opportunity.

Press conference 6:30 PM Eastern. Ramblinwreck.com

Move the goalpost from 6 to 5 years because you got the record wrong, nice job btw. And also on the last 5 years we are 4-1 versus VT. What does that result say? (Answer is basically nothing, just like our record versus Duke). You can pump up the new coach without crapping on the old (current...

    Roster Transition

I'd say Robbie Godhigh was probably the closest we ever had to a "featured back" being an AB. Orwin Smith approached those levels too.

Hell to the no. I want nobody associated with Art Briles rape factory on our staff.

If Collins is new HC, how many games in before...

As much as I enjoyed watching our offense these 11 years, I can't stand the "narrative" around it and how it's the only thing people talk about with our team. It was just way too easy/convenient for commentators to focus on it and ignore just about everything else going on with our team.

    Roster Transition

I don't think the roster adjustment will be that severe. We've got a good stable of RBs in our BBs (and Tobias Oliver), our bigger WRs can likely play the "dynamic TE" role (especially since we all know they can block), and most of our ABs can likely become slot receivers. OL is probably where...

    DC Hire

Yeah I find it hard to imagine a defensive HC like Collins wouldn't want a hand-picked DC to run his schemes, so as much as I think Woody is a very good DC I just don't see him sticking around. I have no idea how well their preferred play styles and schemes would mesh, but the odds for it...

    OC Hire

I actually agree on this...Cook is a guy who I think could adapt under a variety of spread option type systems (as his Cal Poly offenses were vastly different from what we run). I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until he's hired, but I want Bob DeBesse as OC. I really just want an...
