  1. On the subject of watching replays

I was rewatching the VT game and their DT was shooting through the wide gaps created by our OL and JT was getting tackled nearly instantly. Some plays he was able to get the play off, barely, but other times he was tackled for a loss or worse. Did we get better at adjusting to this as the...
  2. GT-Notre Dame transportation

I'll be driving from Chicago to the game. It might be good to arrange a carpool to help defray costs and make logistics easier for multiple parties.
  3. GT-Notre Dame transportation

Only problem with that is if you miss that train, you're boned since the next one that goes all the way out to South Bend gets in after kickoff. Also you have to stick around to 10:16 for the last train out. If it's oversold or you miss it somehow, you're also boned.
  4. from JOL, audio interview with Justin Thomas

I like how he deflected the question near the end about the Hokie's defense, basically saying a lot of ACC teams have stout defenses. Basically a backhanded compliment, making the case that the Hokies aren't all that.
  5. Brad Stewart is an athlete

Love seeing these things. Beats seeing our players assaulting women in bars in the news, like some ACC teams.
  6. Going for Two: Game Theory

Saw this article on Reddit the other day I think our style of power running, coupled with an experienced OL and a bruiser of a BB in Skov, I wonder if CPJ has this rationale in his mind. I guess the flip side of the argument is last year we were really in most of the games, and often-times...
  7. Players report tomorrow

Should help in the CFP selection committee!
  8. South Bend here I come.

I like to start with Kayak and Google.com/flights to seek out itineraries that are convenient for me... Then I go to yapta.com to actually track price changes... I think they've removed the ability to actually do that (the company is pivoting to be a paid service for corporations who do their...
  9. Offensive Evolution, yea or nay?

http://footballislifeblog.blogspot.com/ And specifically about midline: http://footballislifeblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/mailbag-volume-1.html?m=1
  10. Offensive Evolution, yea or nay?

As others have hinted at, it all comes down to playcalling to suit the personnel he has available. I can't recall much midline last year (at least with JT in). I've been reading a great detailed flexbone blog and the author makes the point that the midline is the single most important play to...
  11. An insult to JT and GT

I thought about that, but that's why I would try to categorize them so you can filter out datapoints to suit your narrative... I don't see rocket tosses as any different than a screen really, and those count as passes for traditional QBs.
  12. An insult to JT and GT

I have previously said this, but I am committed to keeping tabs on all of JT's pitches this upcoming season... I'll do my best to track what type of pitch it was too, like option read, designed pitch, rocket toss, etc, for maximum analysis. I'll also be tweeting them at the end of every game...
  13. Joe Hamilton and Herschel Walker...

FWIW, the 2014 UGAg game is considered by many on Reddit's College Football sub to be one of the best games of last year.
  14. How did you become a TECH fan?

My father worked at GTRI when I was in middle school. He took me there before a Homecoming game and I got to play around with a virtual reality surgeon application and dissected an eyeball. At the time, this was cutting edge stuff - and I ate it up. Later we got some chili dogs and a frosted...
  15. Interesting piece on Foster's defense against OSU

Watched a few replays of the 2014 season yesterday and noticed a play I hadn't see in a long time (or at all, even?) in the CPJ era: the A-Back "flea flicker" to Byerly (Duke game), who then ran it up field for 15 yards or so... I would love to see more of these trick plays worked in. Or hell...
  16. History of Georgia Tech Football

    You mean Scott Sisson?
  17. Film Room A Backs in the Spring Game

LOL @ Dak reading #41 for the pitch and not even seeing Golden closing in like a heat-seeking missile. Probably should have kept it and eaten the loss...
  18. Orange Bowl Redux

Haha, I just rewatched the Orange Bowl yesterday... What stood out to me was how we couldn't sustain drives in the first half... I guess CPJ made his patent-pending halftime adjustments which caused us to put a hat on their monster MLB (#50 I think?) which opened up the dive mercilessly. I also...
