Agreed. I live in the upstate area. I will say I'm not overly impressed with the OCs. I think they were bailed out last year with having Watson. I will be curious to see what they are like going forward. Lawrence will be scary to deal with. I also think Johnson has more talent. What intrigues me...
I see a big improvement in CB height with our most recent recruits. I really like the idea of a gap attacking 3-4 defense. Allows us to not be dependent on a massive body in the middle which we have a hard time recruiting and we have some really athletic LBs. Really looking forward to seeing how...
I gotcha. Negativity wasn't directed to you. I hate to dance on someones grave but I appreciate the information on why you would like for him to be replaced. I agree I think some of it is to be blamed on Roof as well as Speed but until we see the announcement we don't know if he will be coaching...
Speed did coach in a 3-4 when he first arrived. I’m not going to argue technique I will take it for what it’s worth. I listened to many of the defensive breakdowns stating the corners played well on the ball and at times misaligned etc. take that with a grain of salt as well. I’m not evaluating...
Speed was dealt a losing hand. Not being able to get to the QB put extra stress on his unit. You think he told them to play off. Sorry but that direction comes from the DC.
To me this is the biggest reason why we have missed bowl games as of recent. We are not a stable program. CPJ seems to be trying his best to get it there but he may not. our highs have been great but our lows are extremely disappointing. I would like to be more consistent around the 9 game mark...
I’m not disagreeing that the relationship never worked but the DC still reports to the HC and when your boss tells you to do something you better listen. Ultimately CPJ is the one responsible for the whole football program. While he gives the DC a good amount of autonomy he still needs to listen...
I’m curious to see where some of our DE right now will end up. I can see one of them like Anree end up being an OLB that is being brought on blitzes a lot.
I gotcha but it’s hard for somebody to talk negatively about their employer publicly. Plus they have been making a push recently to embrace the academic rigors.
Not sure I agree that CPJ uses it as a crutch. He’s just stating the obvious. Takes a special athlete to compete at Tech. Tech has limited majors compared to other institutes/universities. Look at the clemson starting D majors and see if Tech offers any of them. From what I remember there was a...
I’d just be curious how often they actually practice run blocking out of a 2pt stance. I’ll have to re-listen to what CPJ said but it sounded like they were using it primarily during 2 min or 1 min offense practice.
Was the play on 3rd and goal an RPO? Looked like it could have just been play action with Marshall taking it if he had an alley or a throw to JJ in the end zone.
Being there it didn’t look like it. Weather started letting up and it looked like they the field was allowing the players to get some better traction. Clemson just started to run the ball and when they took the shot downfield he was missing.
Agree with this. Being in the stands, the rain definitely didn’t help with some of our outside play calling which could of worked. I would have went with more body blows of b-back up the middle. The fumble and not punching it in for a touchdown after Benson’s long run were the game to me.
