If the game is played just on paper based on talent every team except Alabama and Clemson should just give up.
My question with regards to this whole discussion is the coaching staff putting the offensive players in the best position to succeed and perform well? From what I’ve seen the answer...
Talent is based on recruiting rankings? Eye test? If you average UVA and techs last several recruiting rankings we are about even. They just have coordinators that are utilizing their talent better. I’m still pissed at how our offense looks. There is no cohesion. Just random grouping of plays...
He will get at least 3 years unless he loses he team. I don’t see that happening. I want all the coaches to succeed but we look lost on offense. He will get his recruits in the fold. A lot in the upstate of SC say Tech is a sleeping giant if we could recruit. I haven’t seen a multiple qb system...
I’ll add that we also looked good when we spread out the team by splitting our WOs 2 on each side and having the running back line up behind TO. RB motioned to show strength right before the ball was snapped.
We should be running the ball to setup play action. The spread option play has been working not sure why we don’t have a pass play that can be used off of that.
We have no identity on offense. Defense struggled yesterday. Offense did not help them out. We only ran 46 plays. Look at the box score, two things point out to me. TO is a gamer and we should run him and mason more. LJ doesn’t do anything I don’t think TO can do but vice versa TO does stuff...
He’s not throwing it well at all. Wrong shoulder on deep throws and very off target on some other throws. I don’t care if we run the ball more with TO in there. The offense looks out of sync with LJ.
And people complained the all or nothing pass plays. LJ was 11/17 for 45 yards. I want our players to succeed. He did a great job scrambling on that third down. He did a great job throwing it up to give our WR a play or get PI. I want to see some series either with JG and no TO or getting a...
I’d just ask that you read my comment again. He’s the only one who has shown touch and accuracy downfield. Also, he’s the only one who hasn’t been gun shy. If you want to keep everything within a 10 yard box that just makes the defense job a lot easier. I never said we need to throw downfield...
That QB could of looked great during practice and struggled during the game. Sink or swim when its game time. I feel like James Graham is getting that perception here. I like what I see out of him. I would of liked to see him in a couple more series but he's the only one to complete downfield...
35-7 I see this as an elimination game for the QB competition. Any QB that struggles in this game will drop. I still don't see how it is possible to have 3 QBs going into our last game before ACC play starts.
Given the transition from coaching staffs, what does everyone want to see as far as improvement from the team? It’s a process and I’m taking each game with a grain of salt.
Offense:
-Better snaps from center
-More efficient offense (able to drive down the field)
-QB to step forward(I feel like...
They are all competing out there giving them their best. Running the ball TO looks the best followed by JG. Throwing LJ looks about the same as JG. JG looks to be one who is willing to take a chance on some routes. I really think Citadel will hopefully the game where we get a clearer direction...
Still think a lot of what you see from the QBs is dealing with a byproduct of the OL performance. They are working hard out there. Just one miscue and the whole play gets blown up. For instance, how many snaps did we have off target causing the QB to just scramble rather than execute the play as...
If we run plays to get film and see how we block them I say 28. It looked like once we got the lead with USF, tech was running plays to see if it would work. We didn’t build off packages with play action as much as I was hoping to see.
It also doesn’t help to face the toughest defense on your schedule out the gate. Clemson limited us significantly to where we couldn’t get significant reps. Against USF we were trying a bunch of things to get film. We ran a ton of plays to get more tape. I thought a couple of drives the play...
Agree with a majority that was mentioned about the O. Still think the playcallimg was off in my opinion. Seemed like we were getting some rhythm then we would call the swinging gate play. Also, need to stop the plays for loss on offense. We aren’t explosive enough downfield to make up for it...
I think the same could be said that if we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot it could have been a closer game with Clemson. Don't muff the punt, get behind the chains after a long run that took the wind out of the crowd, tackle ETN on the long run, and punch it in from the 2 it is all a...
35-14
Clean up the mistakes and play aggressive on the football. Negative plays put us way behind last week. I see our guys coming out fired up and building some confidence.
