I don't think anyone really knows. We may get a "tell" this Wednesday at 4:30 when DIS reports earnings. There's a lot of speculation that it's gonna' be ugly. IMO, the ever expanding pot of gold for broadcast rights led by ESPN may be over. Streaming may be the future, but it's likely to be...
Then I would think that the Institute would do anything necessary to avoid a bankruptcy. Losing that chunk of real estate in the middle of campus would be an embarrassment...
DIS has huge management issues right now and I wouldn't put anything past Iger at this point. He's looking for "strategic partners", but no one seems to know who that would be. I'm guessing that the Sinclair/Bally fiasco would leave possible partners a bit gun shy....
Totally agree - when you look at the $$$, it doesn't make sense to replace CJP. We just made a change in FB, dumping a lot of money into that program and paying $10M to the former occupant of that office. Pastner's buyout is reportedly $2.5M, and we'd likely have to buyout the new coaches...
I would love to know what happened at Nebraska. Right after Ruhle took the NE job, I heard him on SXM(IIRC, it was on Mad Dog Radio). During the interview, he mentions G***f and praises him as a defensive savant and the gist that I took from it was that G***f was getting the DC gig there. Time...
QB struggles will do that to you. Klubnik clearly wasn't ready for that stage. I guess Dabo stayed with DJ too long. Play calling was a head-scratcher tho' - McElroy picked up that an empty set would trigger a Tennessee safety blitz every time. Klubnik couldn't get rid of the ball quick...
Chatter on twitter this morning is that the "Dabo Era" is over. Probably more than a little over-reaction. Klubnik played like a freshman starting his first game and the O-line was pretty porous. The ESPN crew were commenting that the play calling was odd - kept going back to the pass when the...
I grew up in NC. Chapel Hole is NC's equivalent of Athens - possibly bigger. Huge fan base; most of which never attended a single class there. Top tier teaching hospital - they crank out doctors and lawyers. Basketball drives the bus, but they're not afraid to throw money at football.
