Facts...who needs em? The guy believes it in his gut, so it must be correct.

    BJS kick returning

Your post brings up something I’ve noticed over these past 11 years (more frequent recently)...we almost never seem to have offensive holding called against our opponents. I think there was one stretch last year where we went something like 3-4 games in a row without a holding call in our favor...

Would you change your tune about academics being an insignificant issue if Collins himself admitted that it provides some hurdles for us? It's not a crutch, it's just reality.

    OC Hire

Keep in mind before our last 2 coaches was nearly 20 years ago, and the entire college football landscape was completely different back then. Recruiting budgets were peanuts (except for the occasional Trans-Am), there was no APR, no BCS, ESPN was only one network instead of controlling the...

    OC Hire

Some people are just insane apparently. I don't know how a GT fan can look at the realities of our school and not have it be blatantly obvious that it is very hard to recruit high level athletes to come here. It's not just "our negative perception", it's reality. The same basic things about our...

    New Strength & Conditioning Coach

Do you know something here, or is this just a "hey check out this guy" post? Edit: looks like he knew something. This guy looks like a good S&C coach, apparently is up for S&C coach of the year. Nice

    BJS kick returning

BJS could put those same RB instincts (finding and attacking a hole) to use as a blitzing LB. Tenuta would have a field day using an athlete like that to attack the QB. If he has a hard time developing the instincts for playing MLB, put that athleticism to work in just creating havoc and...

    BJS kick returning

I want BJS at MLB and Juanyeh at FS, those are next-level athletes who are sorely needed on defense. Between KirVonte, Jordan, and Jerry (not to mention Malloy who might become a FB, or Amerson and potentially Griffin) I think we have RB stocked with good players.

    Quick Lane Bowl Postgame Discussion

Honestly the game last night sucked in all facets, but we GT fans DO NOT need to try tearing down Paul Johnson and the past 11 years just to get their final shots in. I’m going to support Collins like hell, while still missing the CPJ era. If you hated CPJ, just freaking let it go and focus on...

If you really want to know what the players are up to...

Since I don't feel like searching around instagram for individual players, care to share which are the prime accounts to follow for good football-related info (and not just stuff they're sharing for their friends)?

How players will remember CPJ ...

Well said. I’m both excited and sad to watch the 3-O one last time at Tech (I think I’m gonna be watching the 2014 Orange Bowl video today too, and maybe check out GTBob’s channel for some other classic games from the era). If he decides to pick the baton back up after a year or two away, I’ll...

    OC Hire

I’d guess he just means he works with that group a lot, but he’ll very likely still have a coach assigned to the position to run things when he has other parts of the team to deal with. It just doesn’t make sense for a head coach to bog himself down with the minutiae of running a position group...

    OC Hire

I doubt it, because they likely would have announced it the same time as Dixon’s. Pretty much all we know is it’s someone still coaching, and who’ll be done at latest by Temple’s bowl game. I’d also add that it’s likely someone Collins has coached with before. That kinda narrows it down a bit.

Good morning! AJC Collins interview ...

Maybe, but I was responding to a comment (from a former player, mind you) that it was because they were “not feeling the option”.

    Avery Showell tweet, position change

That’s probably a pretty good move, he’s certainly the right size to make an impact right away at a position of need and he’s got some other good, young safeties ahead of him.

Good morning! AJC Collins interview ...

I hate to say it, but it seems ridiculously selfish and petty for former Tech players to stay away from GT just because they didn’t like the offensive style. I’m glad they’re coming back, but definitely giving them side eye.

Good morning! AJC Collins interview ...

Oliver and Jerry Howard I think could slide right into an H-back role and be very effective.

Bowl game Uni.... some will need a suicide watch

Do you not see the very obvious hole in your argument? You said “no other school does this”, and when provided an account of someone who does you counter with a single example who doesn’t. Your extraordinary claim needs a little more evidence than a single data point.

    CGC on 680

I think the impulse to want former GT coaches back mostly comes from those coaches already being familiar with the difficulties of recruiting to Tech, and not being caught flat footed by the hurdles they’d face.

    Collins start recruiting Justin Fields.....

On the flip side, he could have a chance to lead the GT uprising and be the king of Atlanta for 3 years. If he balls out for us, he’ll be on NFL radar.
