Official GT announcement, OC and DC

I'm with you here...even if our base set is out of the shotgun, we should have a short yardage package that puts the QB under center and consists of more than just sneaks and middle runs. I can't stand watching an offense just give up 5 yards on short yardage plays because they can't take an...

    Early Protential Depth Chart

I like Oliver at a LB/S hybrid type position...he's got good size and plenty of athleticism to both cover guys on routes and step up in run support. I really think we need to have Tariq, Kaleb, Juanyeh, and Charlie Thomas on the field together. That's a dynamite core of a backfield right there...

    Early Protential Depth Chart

I was just perusing GC's twitter feed and noticed something posted yesterday that caught my eye. According to this here, there won't be a standard depth chart, but players listed as either "ATL" ("Above The Line", ie playing) or not. Interesting...

    More Defensive Coaches

Is Jeff any relation to Greg? It'd be awesome to get Pop down at GT for a game if so...pretty sure ESPN would make sure to get an on-field interview.

Great Pat Swilling article. Challenging the fans

It certainly worked out pretty well for Myles Jack at UCLA, which is probably a pretty good comparison with BJS. I'd be perfectly okay with BJS starting at MLB (or wherever they think he fits best) and having a package to use him on offense as well. Of course, if he's primarily on defense I...

What is this thing about Waffle House?

This, but add in the fact that he’s been coaching in Philly for the past 2 seasons where they don’t exist.

Official GT announcement, OC and DC

I’m very excited by the defensive staff, and cautiously optimistic on the offensive side. Geoff Collins has pretty much had good to great defenses at every stop, and the Temple D under Thacker put up some good numbers. I am on the optimistic side in how I see our players, and think we have some...

Great Pat Swilling article. Challenging the fans

I don’t even know that he’d be the best RB on the team...KirVonte is still around and was a 1K rusher in just his sophomore season, and very likely would be coming off a second straight 1K season if it weren’t for the injury. Plus, Bruce hasn’t played RB at all the past 2 seasons. I think he...

    New regime goal posts

I understand the point you’re making about the last 4 years, but I’m just gonna say it’s kind of unfair to the current senior class to hold them responsible for the debacle of 2015. We had a single terrible year and another bad year, and one good year and then one “so close shoulda been good”...

    The "Collins effect "........

Great article, I’m looking forward to what Collins is gonna bring on the Flats, but this part just bugs me a bit: “I challenge them to show up and get back to being the people who are Georgia Tech,” Swilling said. “Our family. Because it’s been missing. It’s not there right now.” I’m glad guys...

    OC Hire

If his “negging” of GT was in fact nothing more than a drastic mis-representation of a conversation over a decade ago, honestly what good does it do for him to issue any sort of statement about it? There’s no way to “prove” what happened one way or the other, so maybe we should all take the...

    OC Hire

I’m just wondering how you ever expect to refute a rumor of something that may have happened 10 years ago? Proving a negative is already iffy, but add in a decade of fog and there’s zero chance to ever find out the truth.

    New regime goal posts

Yeah I don’t get the instinct to trash our current players as if we are the worst team in the conference (and if you’re using the bowl game example, what about Miami or ND or any of the other bowl teams that got thrashed for whatever reason?). We have good players recruited toward a specific...

He also just got done playing some of their best teams of the past 30 years, so that kind of balances things out. I don’t deny there were a few times we managed to snatch a defeat from what should have been a win, though.

Wait, I thought they were all in the Power 6 conferences? Those AAC commercials are so sad.

    Bag man

Did you just not notice the scandal that broke out in college hoops this year? That was very widespread, but until someone was caught on an FBI wire tap there was no evidence.

    New regime goal posts

I think when our OL aren't in a 3 point stance, weight ~75% forward, they will be a whole lot more effective at pass blocking. I don't think this is going to be as big an issue as y'all are making it out to be. A guy like Parker Braun will be effective in any scheme.

    New regime goal posts

So I've got a question for you...if we do have a decent-to-good year and win 6-8 games, will you see it as an amazing coaching job by Collins, or perhaps that the cupboard wasn't as bare as so many of you keep demanding that it must be? I think we have some really good athletes on both sides of...

    New regime goal posts

UCF, Syracuse, Miami, VT, and (to a lesser extent, ND) are not even close to be guaranteed good teams in 2 years. UCF will come back to earth with Milton gone (still good, but not as good), Syracuse was 4-8 the previous 2 years under Babers before this season (and now they're losing Dungey), and...

    New Strength & Conditioning Coach

This is the currently running theme of this board. Every single thread ends up side tracked into the same 2 or 3 arguments (generally involving the same 5 or so posters). I don't envy your job trying to keep it clean.
