It's not a guarantee but it would be much better then whatever is going on with the program now, it certainly wouldn't be worse. Right now we're getting shut down by Duke and Pittsburgh, if this is acceptable then why even try anymore?
The top kids these days don't even give us a chance...
A young, energetic coach would absolutely improve recruiting. CPJ has never put a big emphasis on it, and has mentioned many times how he thinks the rankings are not worth crap. He just doesn't have the personality of a recruiter, or someone who tries to sell the program or hype it up at all.
I don't understand the point you are trying to make. "We were good enough to win if we didn't make any mistakes" wow great observation Einstein.
You think the offense was good enough? Even if we pretend none of the fumbles happened, we still were shut down on offense. You may call that making...
I think we really miss Benson a lot. Watching other games (and even our opponent today), I see running backs breaking tackles and making plays. I love our guys but it seems like we can't break any tackles and always fall on first contact. Just an observation.
Yup. The way their linebackers were flying around making tackles on first contact was night and day compared to our guys unfortunately. Big and fast. And this is Duke I'm envious of. :vomit:
Those are the exceptions, not the rule. Having a few diamonds in the rough over a 10 year period doesn't really prove anything. Compare our talent to what we had 10 years ago and there is a clear drop off.
This is why we can't compete with the big boys. Their bag men keep things under wraps, meanwhile we're posting on public message boards about it. :banghead:
Not exactly sure, I was thinking more of the indoor practice facility and McCamish upgrade. But if we're spending that money on non-revenue sports let's get rid of them and invest all the money to football and basketball!! Jk (kinda)
A lot of the debt has also been caused by all the facility upgrades we've done in the past few years. This is why I assumed we are at least on par with Pitt and USF if not ahead of them when it comes to facilities. But since I can't find concrete info about that I just listed total revenue.
Yeah I'm not really sure how to compare facilities specifically. I found a few top 25 lists for facilities out there but GT, Pitt, and USF aren't found in any of those.
Here's the most recent list of total revenue in the NCAA - Link.
Pitt isn't on the list, but I would assume they are in that 80-90 million range with us and a few of the other ACC programs. If I had to guess they are most likely a bit higher than us. USF is down at around 50 million...
Well hopefully they're just lurkers and not posters on here. At least I'm glad to hear there's some real fans pushing back and calling out some of these idiots on social media, keep it up!
I think you're preaching to the choir here. 99% of the people on this message board are not the ones on social media making fools out of themselves. I wouldn't be surprised of most of those bad "fans" on social media aren't actually fans at all, and there are even some trolls from other fan-bases.
I'll be there too, just like every home game this year. I'm just saying the reason we are 1-3 is not because of a lack of resources. Of course if we had better resources we would probably have a better record, BUT that is not the reason we lost to USF and Pitt, it's not like they have great...
I like the letter, but it's a little disingenuous when you see who we've played so far this year. We are on par or have better resources than 3 of the 4 teams we played so far. I'm not sure how we compare to Pitt, but we have MUCH better resources than USF. Not an excuse for this season so far IMO.
