Good Lord. I didn't say he shouldn't give a crap about knowing how to coach. Just said they should be someone who can actually promote the program (like our basketball coach).
I'm not sure who exactly we should hire. But I do know it should be someone who is young, energetic and ready to promote the brand and make us "cool" again.
I also think it should be someone who really has a fire in their belly to go hit the recruiting trail hard, something that CPJ was never...
He must be hearing something from a source inside the team to actually publish that. I think if he didn't get more information today confirming what he thought yesterday he wouldn't have published it with that headline. But who knows.
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: That's the part that really pissed me off about this recruitment. Seemed like a pretty classless move. The best way I can spin it is the staff was begging him to show up so he just wanted to give them one last chance to change his mind.
With that said, if we can't get a...
Yeah all I can do is shake my head as the band continues to play "Put on" for the 10th year in a row. I don't know what's worse between that or blaring YMCA through the speakers. Embarrassing.
It is a risk, but at this point most fans are ready to take it. You might be right in the long run that CPJ can turn the ship around, but right now you're in the minority. We'll see what happens, all I know is I want what's best for GT, as do 99% of us here.
So you're saying the reason we lost that game is because CPJ was out-coached. Now I get it, you're saying we should upgrade and hire Strong this offseason. ;)
I already explained this in my first post on this topic. A young, energetic coach would absolutely improve recruiting. CPJ has never put a big emphasis on it, and has mentioned many times how he thinks the rankings are not worth crap. He just doesn't have the personality of a recruiter, or...
No way has he forgotten how to coach, but recruiting is part of the job and we just aren't getting the same caliber of player that we were a decade ago. The NFL draft is proof of that.
I've been a CPJ supporter all 11 years he's been here. There are no strawman arguments, I only am making one argument. Funding has nothing to do with the way we've lost some of these games, and is only being thrown out there recently as an excuse to defend the coaching because that is all that...
Yeah if only we had the same funding as those schools we wouldn't fumble the ball 6 times. With more funding do you think that would allow CPJ to let us run a two minute offense when down 3 TDs?
We have more funding than USF, I guess that's the school you left out. Why did we lose to them?
