Miami to Pop Tarts
Duke to Gator
Syracuse to Holiday
Louisville to Sun
VT to Charlotte
NCSU to Annapolis
Pitt to Fenway
GT to Birmingham
UNC to Gasparilla unless they trade for something else
Both ESPN guys have us in Pinstripe against Nebraska. Bonagura has a lot of hot takes in his predictions and other guy is about 80% consensus it seems with other sites. It does seem like Fenway and Military are out, which are the two I don't want.
McMurphy and 247 have us playing Oklahoma in Birmingham. Seems as if SMU makes the playoffs we get Oklahoma and if Alabama makes the playoffs we get Arkansas.
Seats - Would think Pop Tarts and Gator care a lot about this. Sun Bowl - ratings. I don't think anyone travels in large groups there because it's so expensive to fly into. They get ticket sales from the locals. I could be totally wrong though.
I consider McMurphy to be one of the most connected CFB reporters. He changed his projections this morning and moved Louisville to the Sun, Syracuse to Pinstripe, Pittsburgh to Fenway, and GT to Birmingham to play Arkansas. I'd be happy with that.
I get if Pop Tarts takes Miami and Holiday takes Clemson. The Gator taking Duke is a head scratcher and could see us or Louisville sliding in there. Send Duke to Pinstripe where more of their fans can attend a local game. :)
Colorado is going to the Alamo Bowl where we have no access too. And Sanders and Hunter are 99% not playing unless they're stupid.
Are we really that disrespected in the bowl projections? I wouldn't argue us going ahead of Duke, Syracuse or even Miami but they teams all have better records...
Latest projections are:
McMurphy and 247 have Fenway vs Tulane
Jerry Palmhas Independence vs Army
Athletic has Birmingham vs Vanderbilt
Athlon has Sun vs Washington
Don't think anyone else's are updated.
Decent consensus amongst them that Miami to Pop Tarts, Duke to Gator, Clemson to Holiday...
Miami is out. The only drama is SMU vs Alabama if Clemson wins. We all know Alabama will win that battle and SMU will be out too.
Other than that, the seeding of the teams that lose this weekend.
