Two backers went to same gap on their left side of the LOS. They were side by side. Maybe that is their assigned responsibility, I don't know. Sounds pretty weird to me. I watched the replay to see for myself mainly because the color guy said "bad gap control" on the broadcast. "That's what...
You don’t have to be a douche to make a point. I already said we blocked the play well at the line of scrimmage. However, we were aided by poor gap integrity by the linebackers. That’s all I said. I’m not taking anything away from Jamaal. He’s probably my favorite player on the whole team. I’m...
So you would’ve been OK with Jamaal getting tackled by an unblocked defender filling his assigned gap? It’s not like we blocked everybody dude. Without their misplay, the game goes to overtime. I can guarantee you our opponents enjoy our misplays on defense.
If that is what the game wants, whatever that means, then why do the refs put the ball in play? They could just stand over the ball with their hand on it until the D calls the play. What is to prevent the D from dragging their feet and not getting ready for the next play just to kill clock?
Thank you. I am an 89 alum as well. And I agree completely with your take on this. I don’t take those words that you wrote at the beginning of your post, lightly. Wrong is wrong and right is right. Winning by doing things right makes wins more sweet. Winning by pulling bush league BS tarnishes...
You can’t see on the replay how poorly unblocked UNC linebackers played gap responsibilities on the play. Guys not doing their basic jobs. We made some good blocks on their DL but bad second level D allowed Jamaal to house it.
Delay of game is against the rules. It’s just too hard to be sure because cramps can come on any time. I think each team should get x number of “injury” breaks then take away actual timeouts. How do you preach toughness then do the very thing that makes soccer players look like little girls?
Faking injuries is bush league. It’s pathetic. That’s my opinion. Other teams doing it doesn’t make it ok. I can’t believe what I’m seeing on this board.
Well the coaches had him on a leash today. That sends a bad message to the entire team. Teams rarely win with this mindset. Fortunately UNC shat the bed worse than us.
Both teams tried their best to lose this game. UNC was better at it that’s the only Takeaway. that doesn’t mean all our games are going to go like this. But this one was a real stinker. If we play and Coach like this going forward, we will not win another game.
