Wouldn't it be something if BK took $2 Million in year one and asked J to use the other $1 mil to get some other coaches and recruiting stuff?
A Tech man might do that. Chadwell...not so much (though I wouldn't fault him, either).
All true.
But you know what? I still like the idea that we could beat other teams without throwing/completing a single pass. Leading the nation in rushing yards. I mean, damn that was something to watch.
Not advocating that for today...but it was impressive. Good times.
Huh? Hiring an up-and-coming young coach with fresh offensive ideas is "throwing in the towel"? I thought the old money guys were eager to go to a more conventional pro-style offense and to get away from the "high school offense" mindset of the past.
Do we even know what we're talking about any...
I enjoy reading your posts, and I hope other Tech players, parents and recruits are as upbeat and resilient as you and Zach obviously are.
This (and other fan forums) can be pretty rough for those who don't have very thick skin. 😕
"Georgia Tech has been getting plenty of praise for their performance against North Carolina on Saturday and one of the main voices of that support has been ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit. Herbstreit had Georgia Tech listed as one of his top teams of week 12, but that was not all. He also listed interim...
In the FWIW Dept:
I just spent an hour or so in the Chanticleer forum. They have a thread entitled "Keeping Chadwell" which has been active since October 2020. They know they have a hot commodity in JC.
Some posts argue that Tech's academics make it a tough job and that Chadwell wouldn't take...
Ah...now there's a good one.
So, does that refer to the creek overflowing its banks during a time of heavy rain? Or the Creek Indians of eastern AL/western GA who took exception to various activities of white settlers back in the day? Dad always said it was the latter.
;)
You're right. I should have remembered that.
It always seemed to me that we could hold the ball forever, but then our defense would give up the quick score. D backs playing 20 yards off the receivers, etc. Bend but don't break. Don't give up the home run pass. Okay, so five passes underneath...
What?
He doesn't want to play in an offense that wracks up 500+ yds per game and 35-40 min TOP? He'd rather sit on the bench while the defense is playing?
I don't understand kids these days...
Not for long, I hope. Ole Miss-type opponents need to go. For a decade at least.
UGA, too, for that matter. And I don't think the Dogs would whine much about that at this point.
We are IRRELEVANT to them now.
I'm picturing a bunch of guys sitting a room watching film.
Position coach wants to offer a player. The head coach says no.
Head coach wants to offer a kid; position coach expresses his opinion but gets overruled.
Like that.
Nice post. I think if CPJ had better passing QB's during his tenure, we would have been truly dominant.
As it was, D's were able to load up on the run game, and we couldn't give them any reason to respect the pass threat because there was none.
With an exception or two along the way, of course.
