IMO our OL & DL just aren't there yet and schedule is being recognized by media as among top 5 most difficult. Unless a lot goes right for GT in terms of players breaking through/breaking out, coaching changes panning out hugely, QB playing very well, etc, etc, I don't see GT sniffing 5 wins...

Having a Clemson-like dominant DE is one of several things that must go right for GT to have a decent season in the face of a tough schedule. Here's hoping White stays healthy and has at least something approaching that kind of performance.

Someone posted an article with the top NIL earners and Gibbs is one of them at 600K+. Can't fault anyone for going after that kind of $$$ if avail. And IMO it basically answers the thread title question, EXCEPT, we can compete in the next tier down.

If Gibbs is making 623,000 I'd say he made the right decision. Hopefully he invests it wisely and uses it to get ahead in case of career-ending injury. NIL could end up ok for GT once things stratify a little. We may not be in the top league, but the league we are in will still play good...
