Wasn't Coleman focusing on the DEs and OLBs with Knight on the interior? Perhaps Thacker can fill Coleman's role, and we can get a true defensive coordinator. (I know the next thought is probably, "or perhaps Thacker can just leave", but it seems like that not going to happen)

Why not just have Larry Knight coach the DL? It’s a pretty common job in both college football and NFL. It’s not that big of an ask. If he’s not up to the task, why keep him around?

We could hire a Special Teams coach or a dedicated TEs coach. We could also just try to hire someone else to Coleman’s role. I’d look at candidates for all of those roles and then hire whoever seems like the biggest net improvement for the team.
