Lots of things coming together that make it appear we're gonna be successful, most important of all IMO is the school getting behind the program after 60 years of not caring.
I also believe he saved our athletic program. Raised money when it may not have been easy to do so. A great leader, will always be grateful for what he did for GT, the student athlete and GT sports fans.
I see those triple deck stadiums that don't have monstrous number of seat rows from bottom to top that appear to view the game closer to the field and also some seats are partially covered.
Seems to me there will be fans for at least a while that will want to be at the happening and we will need a stadium that accomodates them in a fun, entertaining way. I'm guessing no more than 50,000 seats and maybe even less, NW rebuild is 35,000 and that is Chicago.
I have to believe with the...
22 million player cost becomes the demise of the ACC, dollar reality will have to be faced by the schools and all the fans that think ACC continues on, ain't happening folks, sorry. If people think it ends at 22 mil they are fooling themselves. In order to survive that sort of cost you are going...
What I have seen by the speculators as to why certain teams end up in a certain conference tells me they have no clue to the criteria each of the big 2 use to determine where they go. The Big 10 has been very clear about their criteria for a long time now. Based on their criteria the ones I see...
It is appearing more and more likely that the "GOR is ironclad tight" is BS. Sounding more and more like it applies only if you remain an ACC conference member under the present ESPN contract, if you leave the ACC it does not apply. It could apply to content that you leave with the ACC from the...
There are going to be a lot of smaller programs that cannot and will not afford the player payment system, this is going to trigger movement in the alignment game, I feel sure about that. many will not be asked to join the Big 2 so something in the downsize dept will have to take place, not sure...
With us being AAU and the school making the commitment it has and is making, it is THE chip when it comes to the Big 10. Don't think it makes much difference with SEC.
There is stuff being passed around about some of the smaller ACC programs leaving the conference and along with Mike...
When they start winning, and I'm convinced they will in time, we'll see where all those walk aways go. We may end up with a lot of new fans, winning always brings them. When they were winning big in the fifties there were tons of non GT season ticket holders. Of course in this day and time the...
"We will do whatever it takes for GTFB to win at the very highest level" I take him for what he said until I see that he is not committed to that. What I'm seeing so far tells me he is committed to that statement. I'm also seeing, hearing of things coming that tell me there is a lot more going...
It does hurt but you always pay an enormous price coming out of the TO, it's even tougher for GT because we promise the kids a chance for a GT degree no matter what and CPJ I'm pretty sure gave up some of his buyout money in order to insure that we did exactly that, so we were stuck longer with...
When I have listened to Big 10 officials they want big media mkts, AAU schools and schools that are committed to having good athletic programs. We qualify in all three now that our Pres. has made his commitment. "we will do whatever it takes to win at the highest level" Hired an AD that's an...
You're right about the '56 team and one platoon. It was made up by more fall of '53 freshmen than any other class if I remember correctly and that '53 class was recruited under the free substitution rules and they then started having to recruit more two way players seems like going forward with...
I always thought the '56 team was Dodd's best and also thought the '51 team was actually a better team than the '52 NC team but they slipped up and had a tie I think it was with Duke. Duke had really good teams back in that era. That period from 1950 until about '57 was the best era of GTFB ever...
