Yep. You wear the threads, you rep the school, you play your butt off. This is the main issue I have with NIL. It more about the player now than the school they rep. This is exactly what happened to F$U - those guys don't care... they're all rich now.
A slower possession receiver who can get open and has hands is worth his weight in gold (DeAndre Smelter). Super-fast guys who can't get open and have suspect hands are not (nave any of 100 guys that you know of). Fast guys who get open and have hands are valuable, too (Malik Rutherford).
Alabama and UTA both lost last season in the semis of the CFP but it didn't alter The Narrative at all. Alabama lost to two 6-6 teams and UGA should have lost to 7-5 GA Tech, but beat the crap out of UTA and UT, and it didn't alter The Narrative. It's become sticky.
Yeah, me too. A lot of the fun of watching guys develop what anticipation of what the future might be has been ripped out. Oh, for the days of open practices and dreaming of the future of the program. Sigh.
Kennard showed flashes of this performance at GT but never put together a full season of it. Don’t know if it was the coaching at USCe, his light just clicked on, or a maturity developed to max out every down that opened this door. Congrats, Kyle!
