We are still asking, but haven’t quite settled on a consensus yet, whether bowl games even matter anymore.

It matters for the practice time. Someone like Isaiah Canion should get a LOT of reps and playing time now that Singleton is in the Portal. The younger guys will get more reps, and more reps never hurts.

Does the game itself matter? For GT, it means the chance to win 8 games and the outside perception that we've improved this year and Key as ammo to use in recruiting.

Overall, do bowls outside of the Playoffs matter? I guess it depends on the school and the fanbase. IMO, I think a school like Ole Miss has more to lose than gain in a bowl game. A school like GT and Vandy have more positives than negatives by playing in a bowl game.

Thanks for the link, I am sure this will get some updates since it does not list Singleton or Seymour
Here's another one that might be more up to date

Nevermind, this one is not full either. Here is the current list for both teams, I believe:

Georgia Tech

  • Eric Singleton, WR (transfer portal)
  • Horace Lockett, DL (transfer portal)
  • Corey Robinson II, OT (transfer portal)
  • Leo Blackburn, TE (transfer portal)
  • Zach Pyron, QB (transfer portal)
  • Christian Burkhalter, EDGE (transfer portal)
  • Christian Leary, WR (transfer portal)

Vanderbilt

  • Alan Wright, CB (transfer portal)
  • Darren Agu, Edge (transfer portal)
  • Gunnar Hansen, OT (transfer portal)
  • Steven Sannieniola, S (transfer portal)
  • Devin Lee, DL (transfer portal)
  • Micah Bell, RB (transfer portal)
  • BJ Diakite, EDGE (transfer portal)
  • Jeffrey Ugochukwu, LB (transfer portal)

The last bowl I attended was the Music City Bowl against Ole Miss. This afternoon I looked at GT site for tix as well as the usual third party places. I had sticker shock to say the least. What is the going rate for decent seats these days for a bowl like this? will the price drop or increase as we get closer to Christmas? I requested 3 on one of the 3rd party places and put them in my cart. Price was $300. It was during the checkout I discovered that was the price per each and not total price so I aborted the mission. 😦 Appreciate any insight. I am leaning towards attending this game.
Price on the GT site is $75 for lower sideline, $50 for corner. For $300/ticket you must be getting "special benefits" pre-game, post-game & during commcerial breaks & halftime.

Anyone familiar with how the GT bowl ticket reservation system works? We got an email to reserve tickets and it asked for a $50 deposit and # of tickets desired, and we did that but then the website never asked for a cc number…

I went to ramblinwreck.com.
You can choose between lower sideline for $75 or corner for $50. Regardless of which you choose the deposit is $50.
I chose lower sideline. I checked my ticket account this morning and they still haven’t issued the tickets yet.
However, I did get an email from the ticket office stating my $50 deposit has been processed.

Call the ticket office and they will verify or take the order. They already had my credit card on file. I later got an email with the information I made a deposit and in the posting earlier in this thread.
