Again, who was available with greater 'starpower', so to speak? The Whiz is the only name commodity I recall being available and that would've been a boring hire IMO.
And you never understood that it had been passed by Duke and Pitt, 2 teams who don't out-recruit us. You never understood that winning is more important that lots of rushing stats. You never understood that we would never approach being a CFP team by having an offense that could only complete...
and again you confuse "I don't like being passed by Pitt and Duke in the Coastal" to "not understanding PJ's recruiting".
I understood all that all along. What you don't seem to understand is that 7-8 wins was about as good as it was ever going to be with this scheme. That we were never...
That's pretty arrogant to assume I didn't "understand our recruiting under Paul".
So I'll play along: Your problem is you liked PJ's O so much, you unknowingly overlooked the many downsides to having it for so long. While it's nice that a couple of seasons we were able to "outkick our...
A Monken hire would've been a 7-win/status-quo hire that would've likely seen a further decrease in ticket sales and recruiting. We'd had 11 years with the best mind of that particular scheme - getting a PJ Jr would've resulted in complete stagnation and more 50s-ranked recruiting.
It was...
wow, that would've been a worse hire than Satterfield. Talk about generating no excitement nor bump in recruiting whatsoever. That was the absolute worst hire we could've made. The Whiz would've been better than that.
He's a great fit for Army. Suffice it to say (and I know this upsets...
Small-time Satterfield would have likely been a terrible hire. At best, we would have been a rocking horse on his coaching carousel. At worst, another guy from a small school not familiar with P5 football. While Temple isn't exactly a national power either, Collins has more overall P5...
Desperation hire? "Could have done much better"? Given our $$ restrictions, who exactly was the all-star we passed on that we could've had? The Whiz?
Lots of shade-throwing on a staff that hasn't even been thru a Spring Scrimmage game.
Passing 2 of 3 downs in that situation was asinine. Plus, they got the lead when they made the FG. Their D lost that game when they subsequently spread their legs for the Ram offense more than that terrible no-call.
Blaming the refs is usually the last resort of fans seeking to make excuses for losing and is just lame paranoia. There are bad calls made every game against both teams.
It's hard to see Graham riding the pine 2 years in a row so...
Graham / 22
Griffin / 8
Sanders / 7
Adonicas is kind of a dark horse for me but according to the practice thread, he's looking great in practice.
