You make a good point about the big, slow guys owning us. Which is interesting, given the AB-QB speed we had at times. That 2009 OB was maddening to watch.
Teams like Clemson and the mutts had the ugly combo of both big and quick. Like all 32 NFL teams!
Are we the only team that cuts? I thought the argument was that everyone cuts because it's legal (which is true). So do players I've already listed that played for other schools and got injured by cut blocks just not count? Does the injury to Hand not count against cut-blocking's reputation...
2) Our record against elite, fast defenses the past decade speaks for itself. To even begin comparing a college defense of 19-21 year olds against an NFL defense, all of which are stacked with experienced, elite football talent, is a tad disingenuous.
Kinda tired of seeing the bolded though...
what's interesting is that PJ has a ton of passing knowledge, if you've ever seen his Hawaii playbook. I always wondered why he didn't incorporate more of those plays into our offense during his time here. He really seemed deadset on living and dying with the run, contrary to his own extensive...
ah yes, the ol' "Scheduling Conspiracy". Right up there beside the "Refs Hate Us" conspiracy. What I've always wondered is why: Why would the ACC schedule makers go out of their way to screw us over? Why would the refs do the same? Why did these 2 factions apparently hate us...
I watched every single televised game and attended a few in person. Not sure how you bolded and took a post I made about NFL WRs and extrapolated that to GT WRs though????
Ah yes, the ol' thinly-veiled personal attack. Always the first sign of a lost debate.
And speaking of "move the goalposts!", not once have I said that it isn't used, as you clearly imply above. Rather (and I provided a link to one NFL OL coach who agrees) that it's dirty football...
Yep. If Duke can figure it out, every single NFL DC has already figured it out. Running it in the NFL would look like us playing Clemson every single Saturday, with similar results.
Plenty of QBs are definitely overpaid. But your post doesn't refute the fact that the NFL is a pass-first league and all indicators are that it will continue to be so moving forward. From rules that over-protect the QB to rules that make pass coverage more difficult for NFL CBs...it's obvious...
Saban would've collected an easy $1000.

Or that idiot Mike Tomlin:

Let's be clear and fair here. I'm not implying anything - the idea that cut blocking is dirty isn't an opinion I'm inventing but one held by many, including plenty of people with no animosity towards GT or PJ. Also, in terms of "still allowed", the Horse Collar Tackle was still allowed up...
not sure where I said "it's not used at all"? No one is gonna be running the mighty TO in the NFL though, no matter how many people post to the contrary. At best, it'd be a single-play gimmick, like that stupid Wildcat a few years ago that got quickly *****-slapped by NFL defenses. It's too...
and not remotely interested in cut blocking nor flopping. NFL WRs will just take those plays off rather than risk injury.
Meanwhile, it's still a big yardage penalty if a CB looks at a WR the wrong way in pass coverage and 15 yards auto first down if a fan in the stands so much as glances...
There aren't many NFL guys who even want to cut, outside of smallish RBs facing a blitzing LB. It's known as 'dirty football' for good reason and I suspect was probably used against our OL recruiting during PJ's tenure. At the end of the day, these guys are all co-workers (with a few...
I don't think some of the college TO fans understand how much faster and bigger every single NFL defense is than the kids playing at Jax St... or Miss St, for that matter.
I think the jury's still out on how good L-Jax is. He looked like dog crap vs SD in the playoffs last January. He'll need to become like Wilson, a throw-first QB, if he wants to have any sort of lengthy NFL career. Running a few plays out of a formation is nice and fun for the fans but the...

Strange - I wasn't aware of this:
"John Harbaugh was all smiles on Thursday greeting college football coaching legend Paul Johnson, a proven devotee of...
NFL players don't want to chop & flop as often as running the TO would require. Cut blocking, while legal, is still considered to be dirty football. Wouldn't mind seeing it banned too.
